Description
As the Manager of Maintenance & Engineering you'll lead the maintenance efforts of the legendary Grand Ole Opry complex and other assigned facilities within Opry Entertainment Group's portfolio of venues. With a strong focus on preventive strategies you'll partner with venue and corporate leadership to ensure proper maintenance and repair of physical facilities, as well as adequate maintenance staffing for all shows and events. As the ideal candidate your technical expertise and leadership experience will support the production of unforgettable experiences for millions of fans.   * Oversee daily maintenance operations for the Grand Ole Opry complex, WSM facilities, retail warehouse, and Ole Red BNA location within the Nashville airport. * Oversee repairs on mechanical systems, including boilers, chillers, fan units, plumbing, pumps, concession equipment, elevators, lifts, and vehicles. * Develop preventative maintenance plans with an emphasis on energy efficiency and equipment lifespan extension. Ensure execution of maintenance tasks across all facilities including painting, coil cleaning, changing filters, lubrication, visual inspections of HVAC systems, elevators, etc. * Prepare operating and capital budgets for maintenance, repairs, and improvements. Maintain fiscal responsibility for maintenance functions across assigned facilities. * Coordinate contractors and vendors for preventative maintenance and repairs of plumbing, electrical, refrigeration, kitchen equipment, fire alarms, fire sprinklers, and elevator systems. Order parts and provide follow-up and resolution when necessary. Inspect work and approve completion. * Manage HR functions of the maintenance staff including recruitment, training, scheduling, and staff development. Set goals, provide feedback, and track progress in performance management system. * Provide oversight of automated building systems (security, lighting, HVAC, etc.) to ensure continuity of facility operations using on-site and remote computer applications. Identify and address recurring equipment issues. * Work closely with venue and corporate leadership to coordinate maintenance needs for events and special projects. * Support the safety and security function to protect the venue's assets and the personal safety of the employees and guests. Ensure safety and building codes and practices are followed. * Actively participate in professional organizations and maintain supplier relations. * Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Education * High school diploma or equivalent required Experience * 8+ years' related field experience required * 2+ years' supervisory experience Knowledge, Skills and Abilities * Effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills * Strong leadership skills with a focus on achieving results * Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously * Able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends and holidays, to support business needs Licenses / Certifications * Current license in plumbing or electricity or 5+ years' related experience required * Refrigerant usage certification required within 1 year of hire * OSHA Forklift & MEWP certification required upon hire * OSHA 30-Hour General Industry certification required within 180 days of hire * Valid driver's license with satisfactory driving record required * Must meet all requirements to receive required airport SIDA badge, including successful completion of a background check   This position requires a pre-employment drug screening (4-panel: phencyclidine, cocaine, amphetamines, and opiates).   Physical Requirements Speak and hear to communicate and use both near and distance vision. Frequent walking and standing. Occasionally climb, sit, kneel, bend, step up/down and reach above shoulder. Repeatedly traverse stairs and walk on uneven terrain, often while carrying product. Frequently lift/carry up to 25 lbs. Manual dexterity and gross motor skills with frequent use of bi-manual dexterity and fine motor skills. Maintain extended periods of mental focus for monitoring terminals and entering data.   Working Conditions Entertainment environments indoors and outdoors, with large crowds and elevated noise levels.
