WHAT YOU WILL DO

To support our growth into 2025 and beyond, we are seeking a talented Manager Manufacturing to join our dynamic manufacturing department. You will be at the heart of our operations in Breda, leading a motivated team of approximately 30 direct reports, including process operators and line-leads, who work on (semi-)automated assembly and (manual) packaging lines across 2 or 3 shifts.
With 20+ diverse medicines shipped to over 70 countries, our manufacturing environment is fast-paced, innovative, and complex. Using technology, we automate production steps and streamline manual handling to enhance our productivity. As our product portfolio expands, so will Breda’s production capacity, creating exciting opportunities to grow with us.

In this vital leadership role, you will:

  • Inspire Excellence: Mentor, coach, and develop your team while ensuring the highest standards of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Lead by Example: Oversee flawless execution of labeling and packaging processes in alignment with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Drive Innovation: Champion continuous improvement projects using Agile, Six Sigma, and Lean methodologies, encouraging team-led process improvements.
  • Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Represent manufacturing in projects that implement new equipment, develop production lines, and advance sustainability goals.
  • Ensure Quality: Foster a culture of quality and safety, promoting a First Time Right mindset in our well-regulated (GMP & GDP) environment.

Your unique expertise and leadership skills will enable you to drive impactful change and empower your team to excel. To thrive in this role, you’ll need:

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree or proven by solid work experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in a leadership role within a regulated industry (e.g., food, technology, pharmaceutical or equivalent).
  • Willingness to work in a2 or 3-shift system to gain invaluable shopfloor experience, setting you up for long-term career success within Amgen Operations.
  • People management skills with the ability to lead and inspire.
  • Passionate about Lean manufacturing principles and improvement methodologies.
  • An understanding of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) is preferred
