Role Definition Manages the manufacturing engineering and NPI team in Hydraulics and provides guidance to establish the necessary requirements for cost effective manufacturing including welding, machining, assembly, test and painting. Design and optimize plant layouts, machine moves, and new equipment installations. Responsibilities Developing and maintaining an effective organization capable of achieving business objectives and supporting manufacturing operations. Leading manufacturing processing, cost estimating, systems planning, layout, standards, releasing, machine and equipment, tooling and work standards. Managing development, implementation and continual improvement of the operating methods, equipment, systems and other operating infrastructure used to realize operating goals and objectives. Leading the Future of Manufacturing transformation including automation and digitalization to improve Operation Excellence. Ensuring assigned facilities and methods are provided for the manufacture of products in line with authorized product programs and capacity schedules. Collaborating with global cross functional team for expanded offerings through new business identification, bidding, planning, and executing to drive profitable growth. Owing and leading the NPI/NSI/NTI execution to deliver commitments. Skill Needed: Manufacturing Processes: Knowledge of existing product manufacturing methods, technologies and processes; ability to execute, plan, manage and monitor the entire manufacturing process. Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment. Capacity Planning & Management - MFG: Knowledge of tools, approaches and practices for determining production demand and ability to manage resources needed to provide satisfactory levels of service. Lean Manufacturing: Knowledge of philosophy, principles and implementation approaches of lean manufacturing; ability to integrate and implement lean manufacturing philosophy into production and management process. Transformative Capability: Knowledge of evolving the business to remain competitive; ability to understand, adapt oneself to respond to and proactively seek changes and innovation in the business environment to improve the competitive advantage of an organization. Project Management: Knowledge of effective project management strategies and tactics; ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control projects, ensuring efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources to achieve project object Global Collaborating: Knowledge of collaborative techniques; ability to work with a variety of individuals and groups in a constructive and collaborative manner. Organizational Leadership: Knowledge of leadership concepts and ability to use strategies and skills to enlist others in setting, embracing and achieving objectives. Required Qualifications: Hydraulic product and mfg. process experience is great preferred A bachelor’s degree or above with an engineering background Eight to Fifteen years of progressively responsible job-related experience are typically required. Good human relations skills are required to develop a cooperative work relationship with others inside and outside the department.
