As the Manager, Marketing and Communication, you’ll manage a small, high-performing team of marketing and communications professionals to operationalise enterprise strategies, develop and implement Faculty-specific plans, and provide hands-on delivery of marketing and communications activities across digital, print, and event channels — supporting the Faculty’s diverse portfolio. In this hands-on role, you’ll be a trusted partner and a key point of contact for internal stakeholders, collaborating across Schools and central units to drive service excellence and alignment with UQ’s brand and strategic direction. Key responsibilities will include: In collaboration with the Senior Manager, contribute to the development of Faculty marketing and communication plans that align with enterprise strategies, and ensure the Faculty priorities are appropriately supported through coordinated effort from central and local teams. Lead implementation of enterprise strategies within the Faculty and manage hands-on delivery of integrated marketing and communications across but not limited to web, social, email, print, event, campaign, channels, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities, audience needs, and best practice.. Act as a key point of contact for stakeholders, fostering collaborative relationships and providing expert advice and high level stakeholder/client service. Manage communications in relation to reputation risk management, in coordination with central units. Lead an evidence-based approach, implementing use of data and market research Ensure consistent, up to date communications across all channels. Identify and implement opportunities for staff development and improving efficiency and effectiveness, modelling and encouraging continuous improvement. Extensive experience in planning, developing, delivering and evaluating strategic, integrated marketing and communications approaches, solutions and services for a variety of audiences, ideally within a university or similar organisation, to achieve desired outcomes and results. Excellent knowledge of contemporary marketing practices, as demonstrated through recent work experience developing and managing content and assets across multiple channels, including ability to translate complex information into clear, succinct and effective messages. Exceptional relationship management, collaboration, written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated ability to effectively liaise, consult, negotiate and provide quality service and advice at all levels. Experience in reputation and issues management, and handling matters of sensitive nature. Demonstrated experience in managing and leading marketing, communications and engagement professionals, and managing financial and physical resources, including assessing and prioritising competing demands in a complex working environment. High level of computer and systems competency, project management skills, ability to provide evidence-based approaches, and adapt processes and services to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of delivery and outcomes. Experience working in a university, government or other large, complex organisation is desirable.
