JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Materials Manager to oversee our materials management processes. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the efficient procurement, inventory control, and logistics of materials necessary for production. This role requires a strong understanding of supply chain management, production planning, and lean manufacturing principles. The Materials Manager will collaborate with various departments to optimize inventory levels and enhance overall operational efficiency.

REQUIREMENTS

• Proven experience in materials management or a related field within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of supply chain management principles, including procurement, inventory control, and logistics.
• Proficiency in ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle EBS is essential.
• Familiarity with MRP processes and demand planning methodologies required.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Strong analytical skills for assessing inventory levels and supplier performance.
• Experience in supplier management and contract negotiation is desirable.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles is a plus.
• Ability to work collaboratively across departments to achieve common goals.

• Manage the procurement process for materials, ensuring timely availability to meet production schedules.
• Oversee inventory management practices, including tracking stock levels and implementing inventory control measures.
• Utilize ERP systems such as SAP and Oracle EBS to facilitate effective materials planning and procurement.
• Develop and maintain supplier relationships to ensure quality materials and favorable contract terms.
• Implement MRP strategies to optimize production planning and minimize excess inventory.
• Coordinate logistics activities related to material shipments, storage, and distribution.
• Collaborate with manufacturing teams to align material availability with production requirements.
• Analyze demand planning data to forecast material needs accurately.
• Lead initiatives in lean manufacturing to improve efficiency in materials handling and reduce waste.
• Conduct regular assessments of warehouse operations to ensure optimal space utilization and workflow efficiency.
