ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Effectively engaging with Managers and Senior Technicians in Radiation Safety, Production, QC, Development and Shipping to ensure work is coordinated. Effectively engage with Managers and Senior Technicians in Radiation Safety, EHS, Engineering, Calibration, Process Equipment Support and Facilities to ensure safety concerns are resolved in a timely manner.
  • Effectively provide discipline, coaching, engagement and management for personnel within the bounds of collective agreement
  • Manage a team of Monitors, Operators and Helpers to ensure the timeliness and effectiveness of monitoring and decontamination • Ensure appropriate staffing levels are commensurate with current and future operational needs • Onboard, coach, train and manage performance • Ensure that employees adhere to all safety policies and procedures
  • Motivate and mentor the team to drive team performance • Create and maintain an environment of integrity, authenticity, trust, collaboration and respect • Demonstrate a commitment to safety in decisions and behaviours • Assess job hazards and implement mitigation measures.
  • Effectively address concerns.
  • Collaborate with other functional groups to resolve identified safety concerns.
  • Continuously improve safety culture through effective leadership.
  • Support EHS compliance activities as required.
  • Support internal audits.
  • Support inspections and inventories of nuclear and hazardous substances.

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum college diploma in a science discipline
  • A minimum of five years prior supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of radiation and radioactive contamination including the fundamental hazards and detection methods.
  • Knowledge and understanding of nuclear facilities is considered an asset.
  • Knowledge and understanding of pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities is considered an asset.
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks without losing focus on priorities.
  • Experience working in a unionized environment.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written skills.
  • Includes working in a combination of office and industrial environments.
    The base salary range for this position in Ontario (CA-ON) at the start of employment is expected to be between $88,000 and $135,000 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment.
