Essential

  • Good sector-specific expertise and business understanding gained in banking or capital markets
  • Strong understanding around the themes of misconduct and market abuse, and insight into how these are monitored for, and the challenges of doing so
  • Understanding of relevant regulation and the associated surveillance impacts
  • Strong interpersonal skills and evidence of designing solutions to problems and the ability to translate design into implementation actions
  • Experience in supporting/leading workshops, sessions or meetings with various business or technical stakeholders to define requirements or strategic objectives for surveillance-related issues
  • Ability to support sales activity, from understanding client opportunities for client engagement, supporting the design of responses and contributing to oral presentations
  • Developing people management skills and experience in leading small but diverse teams, contributing to an environment of learning, inclusion and support
  • Demonstrated interest in innovation and a drive to build personal eminence in the industry
  • Continual pursuit of broadening your skills
  • Excellent writing skills including design thinking, sentence construction, punctuation, syntax etc.
  • Strong presentation skills including presentation design and delivery

The following will be considered an advantage:

  • Experience in reviewing processes and controls, suggesting process improvements and highlighting inadequate or ineffective controls
