Job Description for Balance out & Obsolescence Manager (LL6) Balance Out: Ensure on time Balance Out study kick-off (18-9 months before JL) for FNA VO & PTO Programs Ensure the kick off the service support strategy for in-house parts - Make vs. buy analysis and recommend action. Lead and conduct monthly meetings with all stake holders to meet the metrics of the balance out programs Liaising with Op plan, Scheduling and marketing team to recommend volume lock/ Final order to plant for all BO programs by >12 weeks/ (Transit Time + 9 weeks) before JL to ensure MRD performance with optimum cost. Balance out program status update to leadership team in monthly cadence Obsolescence Budgeting, Forecasting & Reserve creation – FNA VO & PTO Plants: Engage with finance controller and Plant team to forecast the budget for Business plan period & subsequent year (YoY BOD Submission) Ensure scrap gets accounted in under appropriate books as per FM manual, or, RoTR Review the Monthly changeover / cycle plan and distribute workload among the team members In-Plant Obsolescence: Ensure Team members have adequate training and exposure to perform the role with minimum supervision. Constantly check and improve their versatility. Ensure fort night OBSO report run and all OBS part have the OBS inflow reason, Root cause and timely salvage plan Monitor & measure performance of the team through regular weekly and monthly metrics meeting Ensure Pre-DA to be kicked off 4 months before for DoV programs and 3 months before for normal Balance Outs with a target of 100% Pre-DA for all parts (excluding the Hold parts) to be completed before 1 month of Balance out date. Engage with plant and FCSD team to get the maximum service demand to minimize the scrap impact Lead and support to close the Obsolescence of canvassed parts within 60 days to meet plant metrics Meet the annual salvage % from the OBS inflow (Current Target 60%+ of OBS Salvage) Volume drop / Swap study - Potential In-plant & Supplier obsolescence study for any Pre / Post volume drop request to project the impact in PCM meetings Supplier Obsolescence Forecast the supplier Obsolescence risk for upcoming balance out programs based on the volume drop impact Ensure team following the Ford supplier claim process to validate the liability as per 3 Weeks Fab & 6 Weeks RAW form claim settlement COE OBS team provides additional support to suppliers and purchase on > 9 Weeks lead time liability Ensure supplier claims are closed within agreed Targets from the claim submission to claim approval based on the DOA Engage with Cross functional team (Suppliers, Purchase (supply chain), PD/PVT, Finance) for supplier OBS salvage Expertise in PPM domain with hands on experience in Supply chain, Releasing & Production BOM areas. Strong Knowledge in PPM systems like WERS, CMMS and supplier handling etc., Ability to work with multiple stakeholders and handle multiple high priority initiatives at the same time. Strong leadership skills with good communication, collaboration and influencing skills Ability to navigate complex decision making in a rapidly changing environment Good analytical skills. Ready to work in COE timings. Bachelor’s degree in engineering discipline (BE / B Tech) Professional certifications in Supply chain or MBA will be a plus 10+ Years experience in MP&L - PPM areas.
