MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS

  • For the Manager, Nancy Island Operations role, you must have a valid class “G” Driver’s Licence.

STRATEGIC LEADERSHIP SKILLS:

  • Proven leadership experience with the ability to inspire, engage, and mentor staff through ongoing change and transformation.
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, inclusion, and anti-racism principles across all aspects of management and team development.
  • Strong judgment, political acuity, and organizational awareness in navigating complex issues and priorities.
  • Embodies the leadership behaviours and mindset needed to guide the Ontario Public Service into the future and deliver on its strategic vision.
  • Experience in hiring, staff development, and team management, with a focus on building inclusive and high-performing teams.

SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE AND TECHNICAL EXPERTISE:

  • Knowledge of human resources practices, policies, and collective agreements, including recruitment, training, and labour relations.
  • Expertise in project management, particularly in capital and infrastructure projects, with a focus on heritage and tourism operations.
  • Familiarity with financial and administrative procedures to manage budgets, assets, and procurement processes.
  • Understanding of strategic directions, service delivery models, and government systems.
  • Experience in land and resource management, including capital development and ecological integrity within heritage or cultural settings.

COMMUNICATION AND RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT SKILLS:

  • Strong communication and consulting skills to build and maintain relationships with internal teams, external partners, and community stakeholders.
  • Skilled in preparing briefing notes, correspondence, policies, and strategic documentation for senior leadership.
  • Proven ability to engage diverse teams and stakeholders, including community outreach and program coordination.
  • Comfortable working independently in geographically remote sites while maintaining strong organizational alignment.
  • Open to candidates with emerging leadership experience, including those who have led projects or held supervisory roles.
