Salary - $145,378.00 pa - $168,130.00 pa, plus employer’s contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading

YOUR ROLE

The Manager (Business Coordination) in the Office of the Deputy Secretary Corporate Services is responsible for leading a small team who manage Corporate Services allocations and workflow, assuring the quality of executive and ministerial briefings along with other material requested from Corporate Services. The Manager role is also responsible for leading continuous improvement of business processes for the division and maintaining strong professional relationships with Executives across the Department of Communities and Justice.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

In this role you will be:

  • Managing and leading Office of the Deputy Secretary (Business Coordination) team members.
  • Reviewing and editing complex or high visibility briefing notes, reports, and other material
  • Ensuring executive, ministerial, and parliamentary allocations and requests for Corporate Services are addressed within critical timeframes.
  • Engaging with key stakeholders including executive support teams, divisional executives, Office of the Secretary, and Departmental Liaison Officers.
  • Collaborating with Corporate Services executives and their teams to support divisional priorities and solve problems.
  • Managing the delivery of divisional continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Providing advice and support in response to ad-hoc requests or projects as requested by the Director and Deputy Secretary.

The Office of the Deputy Secretary Corporate Services is a fast paced and dynamic environment.
The Manager leads a small Business Coordination team who are the main point of contact for all queries which relate to Corporate Services functions within the Department of Communities and Justice.
The Manager (Business Coordination) reports to the Director, however, also works closely with the Deputy Secretary responsible for distilling complex information into succinct verbal briefings.

In addition to the essential requirements in the role description, the ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience and/or interest in managing allocations and workflow, including the ability to quality assure briefing notes and other written material.
  • Experience and/or understanding of machinery of government and parliamentary functions.
  • Experience and/or interest in working in an executive office and/or providing executive support.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication with the ability to establish credibility and strong relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Ability and drive to take initiative, work autonomously where required, and foster a collaborative work environment.
  • Great attention to detail and ability to work within critical timeframes.
  • Experience in leading and managing teams
