Job Title: Manager of Aircraft Scheduling Department: Operations Control Center Reports To: Assistant Director of Operations Control Center - Scheduling FLSA Status: Nonexempt SUMMARY: The Manager of Aircraft Scheduling is responsible for the direct oversight of the Assistant Manager of Aircraft Scheduling, Aircraft Schedulers, and the Military Scheduler. They are responsible for flight schedule integrity, overseeing the development and coordination of Aircraft Scheduler training, setting departmental goals, processes, and reliability metrics, setting and maintaining staffing levels, and any other duties or projects as assigned by the Assistant Director of Operations Control Center – Scheduling. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Oversee the creation and maintaining of an Aircraft Scheduling Manual. 2. Oversee the creation and maintaining of a training program for the Aircraft Scheduling department, to include: *  Initial and yearly recurrent training programs * CBT * OJT 3. Set and implement department processes and procedures designed to increase efficiency and improve communication both within the department and between Aircraft Scheduling and other departments 4. Oversee the Assistant Manager of Aircraft Scheduling in their efforts to: * Create and maintain training records * Perform quality assurance audits to evaluate the effectiveness of training *  Determine areas of responsibility and specific job functions for the Aircraft Schedulers that need revision, or where the training program may be enhanced * Ensure the quality and accuracy of the information provided by the Aircraft Schedulers. * Assists the Duty Manager in maintaining the interdepartmental flow of accurate information 5.  Manage, develop, and utilize scheduling programs (MISA/ASTRO/EXCEL/JOC/JFS) to manage the fleet schedule to * maximize utilization of aircraft * reduce non-revenue flying *  Meet aircraft maintenance requirements *  Meet customer requirements *  Protect schedule integrity and on time performance 6. Collaborate with the sales team to develop and implement viable flight schedules to meet added customer demand SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES The direct supervision of the Assistant Manager of Aircraft Scheduling includes daily functions. Indirect supervision of Aircraft Scheduler and Military Scheduler duties and functions QUALIFICATIONS The manager of Aircraft Scheduling must have experience in a flight dispatch center. Have attention to detail, be able to think analytically; multi-tasking and stress management skills required. Must be able to supervise effectively. Must be a High school graduate. It is desired applicant have some college and/or technical school as well as an FAA Dispatch Certification. Applicant must demonstrate through the interview process the capability to speak and read the English language, the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals, and the ability to convert between different units of measure, compute rates, ratios, and percentages.
