Description FLSA Status: Exempt Pay range: Low $66,898 per year High $73,587 per year Schedule: Full time, Monday through Friday, 7:30AM to 3:30PM Job Summary: The Manager of Case Management is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the program to ensure that SFH guests have access to supports and services they need to work toward stabilization in the realms of behavioral health, housing and income. The Manager supports case managers in navigating the complex needs of homeless individuals who may be experiencing substance use disorders, severe mental illness, and/or complex trauma. The Manager works both with agency leadership and outside agencies to promote continuity of care for guests within the Boston COC. The Manager of Case Management provides support to the Director of Behavioral Health in ensuring the administrative functionality of the Case Management department. Supervisory Responsibilities: Oversees the daily workflow of the department. Oversees the daily workflow of assigned staff. Interviews, selects, and trains staff. Provides constructive and timely performance communication. Handles progressive warning and recommends termination of employees in accordance with agency policies/procedures. Essential duties / responsibilities: In conjunction with the Director of Behavioral Health. designs, develops, and implements management practices and protocols of the Case Management Department Uses data and reporting tools from Client Track to measure benchmarks and ensure accurate reporting to external funders as needed Oversees the day-to-day management of program activities including client enrollments, creation of individualized case management services, including linkages and referrals to appropriate service providers. Supports Director in coordinating administrative needs of clinical case management department, including attending agency meetings, compiling reports, and overseeing Case Manager of the Day scheduling. Serves as first point of contact for case management staff in matters needing supervision or intervention, providing consistent supervision and constructive feedback to direct reports. Intervenes in escalated and/or severe crises needing a supervisor, balancing the need for safety for all involved. Seeks appropriate assistance from emergency services as needed. Oversees hiring, training and supervision of individual case managers with a focus on supporting their professional development Provides input on the creation of the case management budget. Monitors department spending and submits financial documentation to finance team in timely manner. Works with Director of Behavioral Health to ensure timely reports are complete and available for the finance department, funders and other stakeholders including but not limited to Quarterly Performance Reports, Annual Performance Reports, Ad-hoc Reports, Board Report and Management Reports. Serves as liaison between the referral agencies, service agencies and other stakeholders for Case Management and develops a positive relationship with community partners. Acts as the agency’s subject matter expert on case management services and contributes insights and resources to SFH staff as needed. Represents agency at community events and meetings and serves as the Case Management primary contact. Meets regularly with Manager of Harm Reduction, AD of Behavioral Health, and AD of Recovery Support Services for interdepartmental case conferencing to ensure quality of care within BH department Applies a Recovery Oriented, Person-Centered, and Trauma-Informed approach to the programming and supervision adopting key best practices such as Motivational Interviewing and Harm Reduction. Works collaboratively within the larger management and leadership teams at St. Francis House to provide integrated services that aligns with agency priorities and values. Adheres to agency code of conduct. Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements Required Skills & Abilities: Proficiency in English. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them with appropriate. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. Ability to function well in a fast-pace and stressful environment. Basic understanding of and commitment to taking a person-centered, recovery-oriented, and trauma-informed approach. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong supervisory and leadership skills. Education & Experiences: High School Diploma or equivalent required + 5 years experience working in a non-profit, direct care setting serving vulnerable populations. OR Bachelor’s degree in human services or higher level degree in related field + 2 years experience working in a non-profit, direct care setting serving vulnerable populations. Experience working with homeless individuals providing housing search, placement, and stabilization case management in a direct care or supervisory/management role. Supervisory experience with demonstrated skills in staff coaching, team building, and training. Knowledge of Boston Continuum of Care and Homeless Initiatives a plus. Lived experience with homelessness and/or recovery a plus. Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds at times. Prolong standing and moving throughout multi-level building. Constantly operate computer and other office machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, computer printer, 2-way radio.
