Job Title: Manager of Childcare Licensing and Compliance/ 1 year contract
Reports to: Director Of Operations
Supervises: School Directors
Location: Serving Oakville, Burlington, and Milton
Position Summary:
As a key member of the leadership team in a not-for-profit organization serving children from infancy to age 12, the Manager of Childcare Licensing and Compliance is responsible for ensuring that all seven childcare locations across Oakville, Burlington, and Milton meet or exceed the licensing standards set by the Ministry of Education. This role oversees all School Directors and is the primary lead for compliance monitoring, policy implementation, and regulatory updates across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct leadership, guidance, and performance oversight to all School Directors to ensure consistent delivery of high-quality, compliant childcare programs.
Monitor and maintain ongoing compliance with the Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA) and all relevant Ministry of Education licensing requirements across all seven sites.
Act as the organization’s main point of contact for Ministry updates, inspections, and communications.
Analyze Ministry directives and legislative changes; lead the timely revision and implementation of internal policies and procedures to reflect updates.
Conduct regular site visits, audits, and internal reviews to ensure full compliance and support continuous quality improvement.
Support School Directors in preparing for Ministry inspections, and lead the response and resolution of any compliance issues.
Deliver and coordinate compliance-related training for School Directors
Collaborate with the broader leadership team to ensure alignment of policies and practices with the organization’s mission, values, and strategic goals.
Qualifications:
Diploma or Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
Registered and in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators (RECE).
Minimum of 5 years of experience in licensed childcare, including supervisory or leadership roles and a strong focus on compliance and policy development.
Demonstrated knowledge of CCEYA, Ministry licensing processes, and child care regulations in Ontario.
Strong leadership, coaching, and interpersonal skills with experience managing a multi-site team.
Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Job Type: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 13 months
Pay: $37.60-$47.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
