Manager of Compliance and Taxes
We are seeking a responsible and skilled Manager of Compliance and Taxes to organize and oversee our rapidly growing multi-business, multi-state tax operations. We are based in CA but depending on the candidate will consider a remote position.

This position will:
· Facilitate and manage the preparation and review of all company federal tax returns and the accurate, timely filing of all tax forms.
· Manage tax planning and compliance across all business entities, ensure accurate, timely filing of consolidated federal, state and local income tax returns and other business-related filings to include multi-location city business licensing.
· Find and implement opportunities for process improvement in company tax procedures.
· Develop and implement strategic tax planning for all necessary federal and state taxes.
· Collaborate with finance, legal and operations departments to ensure alignment and coordination on all tax-related matters.
· Manage and facilitate IRS and/or State income tax audits: preparing responses, creating schedules, etc.
· Provide guidance and support to internal stakeholders on financial issues, including tax implications of business decisions and transactions.
· Monitor all tax operations to ensure their timely completion and compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
· Monitor legislative and regulatory tax law developments and communicate the effects of these developments to key management. Create strategies to capitalize on changes to taxation legislation.
· Develop and implement internal audits.
The ideal candidate will possess:
· 5+ years in a tax or accounting role with 2+ years management experience
· Preferred candidates have a current CPA license and a master’s degree in an accounting discipline
· Extensive corporate/partnership tax knowledge
· Proficient with the following software/tools: Word, Outlook, Excel
· Proven accounting, analytical, and research skills
· Ability to work well independently
· Strong written and verbal communication skill in order to communicate the benefits of tax initiative to stakeholders
· Strong knowledge of corporate tax codes, compliance and procedures
· Expertise with U.S. federal, state and local reporting requirements
· Demonstrated experience with a variety of tax operations and ability to drive process improvements
· Ability to utilize project management and accounting best practices to organize and prioritize tasks
· Ability to travel to Corporate Headquarters as required
