Manager of Curriculum & Instruction MCI Grade Band Specializations: Primary: K–1 Lower Elementary Math/Science: Grades 2–4 Lower Elementary Humanities: Grades 2–4 Middle School Math/Science: Grades 5–7 Middle School Humanities: Grades 5–7 Role Summary The Manager of Curriculum & Instruction (MCI) is a high-impact instructional leader responsible for driving teacher and instructional staff development, instructional excellence, and measurable scholar growth within a specific grade band and content area. MCIs are intense data drivers who coach and develop lead teachers, associate teachers, interventionists, and instructional specialists through consistent observation, feedback, modeling, and data analysis. MCIs work shoulder-to-shoulder with instructional staff to ensure instruction is rigorous, standards-aligned, and responsive to scholar needs, while partnering closely with Principals to advance school-wide instructional priorities. Key Responsibilities Instructional Coaching & Staff Development Coach a defined caseload of lead teachers, associate teachers, interventionists, and instructional specialists within the assigned grade band and content area. Conduct weekly classroom observations and coaching cycles across core instruction, small group instruction, and intervention blocks. Provide clear, actionable, and data-informed feedback that leads to immediate instructional improvement. Model lessons, co-plan, and support instructional delivery across Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 settings. Develop and monitor individualized coaching plans for instructional staff, including goal-setting and progress tracking. Data-Driven Instruction Analyze i-Ready (K-4), MAP (5-7), internal assessments, progress monitoring tools, and formative data to identify trends across classrooms and instructional roles. Lead data conversations with teachers and interventionists to refine instruction and supports. Support instructional staff in designing reteach plans, intervention groupings, and enrichment opportunities. Monitor scholar progress toward grade-level mastery and instructional priorities. Curriculum & Instructional Alignment Ensure high-fidelity implementation of Ethos Classical’s adopted curricula across general education, intervention, and specialist settings. Support instructional staff in unpacking standards, planning aligned lessons, and maintaining pacing coherence. Collaborate with school leadership to refine curriculum materials, assessments, and instructional resources. Ensure instructional consistency and alignment across classrooms, grade levels, and service models. Intervention & MTSS Integration Partner with MTSS and intervention teams to align Tier 1 instruction with Tier 2 and Tier 3 supports. Coach interventionists and specialists to ensure targeted instruction is aligned to core standards and classroom instruction. Support progress monitoring and instructional adjustments based on scholar response to intervention. Instructional Continuity & Coverage Planning Serve as the instructional owner of coverage planning for coached instructional staff during planned absences (e.g., professional development, extended leave, scheduled time away). Develop and maintain pre-approved coverage plans that ensure instructional continuity and alignment to curriculum during teacher absences. Coordinate with school leadership and operations teams to create coverage plans and duty coverage. Ensure coverage plans include clear lesson plans, materials, pacing guidance, and expectations so scholar learning remains uninterrupted. Step in to support instructional continuity as needed during extended absences, including short-term direct instruction when appropriate, while prioritizing long-term instructional sustainability. Professional Learning & Collaboration Support and facilitate professional learning for teachers, interventionists, and specialists aligned to instructional priorities. Collaborate with other MCIs to ensure vertical and horizontal alignment across grade bands. Contribute to school-wide academic planning and continuous improvement efforts. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in Education or related field strongly preferred. Valid Georgia teaching certification required. 3+ years of strong classroom teaching experience with demonstrated scholar growth. Experience coaching or mentoring teachers and instructional staff preferred. Deep content knowledge in assigned grade band and subject area. Strong command of data-driven instruction and standards-based planning. Exceptional ability to coach adults with clarity, urgency, and respect.
