POSITION OVERVIEW

The Manager of Day Program Services will lead and expand our Adult Skills Centre, ensuring it delivers high-quality, engaging, and person-centered programming for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, including those with autism and complex needs. This role requires an innovative and strategic leader who can develop and scale program offerings, build community partnerships, and enhance service delivery while ensuring operational excellence. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in program development, leadership, and Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and expand the Adult Skills Centre, ensuring programming aligns with best practices and participant needs.
  • Develop and implement engaging, skill-building activities that foster independence, social engagement, and personal growth.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with funders, community partners,
  • and families.
  • Identify opportunities for program enhancement and expansion, including new services, funding sources, and community collaborations.
  • Oversee program staff, including hiring, training, mentoring, and performance
  • evaluations.
  • Ensure a safe, inclusive, and positive environment for participants and staff.
  • Maintain compliance with all relevant regulations, funding requirements, and industry standards.
  • Oversee program budgets, resources, and reporting, ensuring efficient use of funds.
  • Monitor and assess program outcomes, making data-driven decisions to improve
  • service delivery.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Completion of a Child and Youth Worker, Mental Health Worker, Developmental Service Worker, Recreation, Social Services Worker Diploma from a Community College or University.
  • Minimum 5 years of leadership experience in a day program or similar setting, with a proven ability to develop and grow services.
  • Experience managing programs for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
  • Strong leadership, team-building, and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of best practices and ability to execute new and innovative programming ideas for transitional-aged youth and adult day programs with complex needs.
  • Excellent communication, relationship-building, and advocacy skills.
  • Proficiency in program budgeting, documentation, and data-driven decision- making.
  • UMAB, CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
