Description

Title: Manager of Fund Development & Communications
Position Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday (occasional after hour flexibility is required)
Location: 962 Bloor St West
Supervisor: Executive Director
Sistering is a multi-service agency which offers practical and emotional support to women and trans people facing a variety of challenging life circumstances, including poverty, homelessness, social isolation, mental health and trauma histories.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Manager of Fund Development and Communications is a key member of the management team, aligning fund development, communications, and volunteer engagement activities with the agency’s strategic priorities. The Manager is a results-oriented individual with strong management skills and a hands-on approach to fundraising and communications.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in fund development in the not-for-profit sector with a track record of significant success;
  • Proven experience developing persuasive fundraising and grant proposals, and delivering presentations to targeted funders, foundations, or institutional donors;
  • Strong knowledge of developing, managing, and implementing corporate fundraising strategies and work plans;
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to engage with a diverse range of stakeholders;
  • Strong financial acumen and strategic thinking, with excellent problem-solving skills;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including public speaking and proposal writing;
  • Strong event management and project management skills with the ability to multi-task;
  • Experience in managing and developing people and teams;
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), CanadaHelps, or other fundraising databases;
  • Demonstrated commitment to anti-oppression, equity, and inclusion, with an ability to apply these principles in fundraising and community engagement;
  • Able to work flexible hours as needed;
  • Major Gift experience considered an asset
