Description Tague Lumber is looking for a Human Resources Manager to lead our HR team and help shape a workplace where people thrive. In this role, you’ll play a key part in driving company culture, supporting employee growth, ensuring compliance, and aligning HR strategy with business goals. We’re seeking an experienced HR professional who enjoys both big-picture strategy and hands-on execution — someone who can influence leadership decisions while also supporting employees day to day. What You’ll Do Lead & Strategize Oversee the Human Resources function, aligning HR initiatives with organizational objectives. Partner with leadership to design programs that foster engagement, retention, and development. Keep policies and the employee handbook current and compliant. Maintain accurate HR records and reporting systems. Recruit & Onboard Manage full-cycle recruiting to attract and hire top talent. Coordinate background checks, drug testing, and pre-employment requirements. Deliver a smooth, welcoming onboarding experience for new hires. Develop & Support Employees Coach and guide managers in performance management and employee relations. Facilitate training, feedback, and professional development initiatives. Promote a culture of teamwork, respect, and accountability. Administer Benefits & Compensation Oversee employee benefits, including enrollment, COBRA, ACA compliance, and workers’ compensation. Partner with leadership on compensation strategy and benefits enhancements. Evaluate programs for competitiveness and employee satisfaction. Ensure Compliance & Safety Work with the VP of Operations on safety programs, training, and DOT compliance. Administer the Random Drug Testing Program. Participate in Captive Insurance Program meetings and initiatives. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field (HR certification a plus). 5+ years of progressive HR experience, including leadership responsibilities. Strong understanding of employment law, benefits administration, and compliance. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and relationship-building skills.
