MacCosham has been providing rail yard terminal services for over 50 years and is experienced in the management of a variety of yard configurations. In addition to our rail intermodal terminal services, including lift-on/lift-off of containers and hostler services, we also operate several container and chassis repair depots associated with rail yard terminal services, with a full range of mechanical, welding and associated repair services.
MacCosham Inc. is looking for a full-time, permanent Manager of Intermodal Yard Operations to join our growing team in Calgary, AB.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Post-secondary education (College or University) considered an asset
• Previous experience in a supervisory or managerial role within the transportation or logistics industry.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of rail operations, intermodal/automotive terminal operations, and safety regulations.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and other relevant software applications.

THE ROLE

The Manager of Yard Operations will oversee the day-to-day operations of our, ensuring the efficient and safe movement of goods through our intermodal and automotive terminals. This role requires strong leadership, operational expertise, commitment to safety, organizational skills, and a commitment to excellence.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead the operational activities of the Yard Operations
• Oversee both operations schedule and payroll to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
• Manage and adhere to both operations budgets, ensuring cost-effective operations while maintaining high-quality service delivery.
• Ensure the safe and efficient movement of goods through the terminals, adhering to all safety regulations and company policies.
• Coordinate with internal departments and external stakeholders to optimize terminal performance and customer satisfaction.
• Oversee facility security measures to prevent theft and unauthorized handling of company property and shipments.
• Provide leadership and support to a team of supervisors and employees, fostering a positive and inclusive work environment.
• Develop and implement operational strategies to improve efficiency, productivity, and customer service.
• Monitor key performance indicators and implement corrective actions as necessary to meet operational targets.
• Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with senior management to develop and implement long-term strategic plans for the terminals.
