As Manager of Marketing Events, you will bring K12 Insight’s brand to life through conferences and special live and virtual events by creating memorable experiences and networking opportunities that drive demand generation and support the company’s revenue goals.
In this role, you will use your excellent organizational skills to help define and execute our events strategy. Your work will play a central role in our sales and marketing efforts and be critical to achieving our product and revenue goals. This role reports to the Vice President of Marketing and is a managerial position with one direct report at this time.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Event Management, Brand Management, Marketing or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in event planning and marketing
  • Demonstrated ability to create, manage, and execute events
  • Proactive mindset and ability to manage ambiguity
  • Ability to think outside the box
  • Broader marketing lead generation experience highly preferred
  • Experience using project management software like Asana highly preferred
  • Salesforce experience highly preferred
  • Experience with K-12 education and/or EdTech conferences, events and associations preferred
    Location: This role can be based in our Herndon, Virginia, headquarters or work-from-home anywhere in the USA. It will include up to 20% travel and may include working occasional nights and weekends. We will consider candidates located anywhere in the United States, with a preference for those in Eastern or Central time zones. Candidates should also be within a commutable driving distance to a major airport to facilitate travel requirements. #Li-remote
Responsibilities
  • Work with Marketing leadership to execute the strategy, direction, and roadmap for association partnerships and conference event experiences (ERDI, NSPRA, AASA, CoSN, etc.) — including special events for clients and prospects
  • Design unique, compelling event experiences that deliver ROI including speaking engagements, workshops, and sponsorship engagements at selected events and through partnerships
  • Manage event marketing budgets effectively, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and seeking opportunities to negotiate in-kind sponsorships with conference hosts to maximize our exposure
  • Collaborate with others on the Marketing team to design and deliver content for virtual and in-person events
  • Manage event logistics including hotel bookings, after hours events and dinners, registration, presentation submissions, etc.
  • Collaborate with the Leadership Team and across Product, Marketing, Sales, and Client Success teams to develop strategies and creative approaches for events — including our goals and participation levels
  • Manage scheduling and prioritization of event-related tasks, and track project progress — from start to finish — using Asana, Salesforce, Hubspot, and G Suite
  • Evaluate event success (ROI) based on data and feedback using Salesforce and other tools to understand impact on MQLs, pipeline, and revenue
  • As needed, work collaboratively to build and support other Marketing, Sales and Client Success campaigns designed to grow our business
  • Remain deeply aware of our company mission, vision, product goals, and buyer journey, and translate that knowledge into compelling event experiences that inspire prospects and clients to action
  • Manage one direct report (Marketing Event Coordinator or Marketing Event Specialist), setting goals and monitoring performance
