At Houston Methodist, the Manager Physician Contract Compliance position is responsible for developing, implementing, and administering a variety of variable pay programs and the documentation of the programs for compliance with all pertinent regulations. As the strategic lead, the Physician Contract Compliance Manager plans, directs, and/or coordinates inter-related projects to ensure that the goals and monthly, quarterly, and annual reconciliation process are completed accurately and timely. Works with the administration to ensure documentation complies with the approved provider compensation philosophy. Also works with legal, internal audit, operational stakeholders, and external consultants to ensure provider compensation is compliant with all state and federal regulatory requirements. Leads the communication plan for the annual compensation processes working closely with the Physician compensation team to ensure adherence to deadlines during this annual process including but not limited to productivity reconciliation, administrative time tracking, and annual programmatic goals. In addition, this position is accountable for employee engagement, adequate staffing levels, budget development and compliance, staffing decisions such as hiring and terminating employment, coaching and counseling employees on work related performance, and developing and implementing policies and procedures to ensure a safe and effective work environment. This position also ensures training, monitoring and operations initiatives are implemented which secure compliance with ethical and legal business practices and accreditation/regulatory/government regulations.
The manager position responsibilities include managing the daily work activities of the work unit/department staff, ensuring quality, productivity, functional excellence and efficiency while assisting management in accomplishing strategic and operational objectives. In addition, this position provides guidance to staff and is responsible for staffing, budget compliance, contributing to staffing decisions such as hiring and terminating employment, coaching and counseling employees on work related performance, and assisting in the development and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure a safe and effective work environment.
