No. C Date: 11/21/2023 Page 2 of 4 REPORTING RELATIONSHIP Reports to Director of Product Design / Program Development. PURPOSE Function Manages and coordinates the implementation of changes and new program launches of new and existing products/product lines for JCSNA. Evaluates and ensures effective implementation of product changes and new program launches. Ensures team meets project milestones and budgets, and completes projects within established timeline. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Supervise, lead, and direct the engineering change and program launch department for all JCSNA products and locations, including Automotive and Commercial projects. Carries out management responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Appraising performance, as well as rewarding and disciplining employees Addressing complaints and resolving problems Manages the Engineering Change process and personnel in meeting organizational objectives. Manages the New Program Launch process and personnel in meeting organizational objectives. Ensure timely APQP and audit all launch activities in accordance with the JCS Gate system, including project milestones, timelines, open issues, and tracking documents. Ensure effective cross-functional team leadership in achieving change and program launch objectives and milestones. Ensure regular program reviews and status reporting with core teams and management via ECO, New Launch, PD, and Gate meetings; also including updates to customers and/or other JCS groups. Ensure effective management of product cost and profit, as well as overall program launch budgets in accordance with defined goals and objectives. Facilitate cross-functional activities to resolve issues, problems, and concerns that impact program goals and objectives, and assist in prioritizing resources. Support RFQ activity in conjunction with Design Engineering, Sales, and New Business Development teams. JTEKT Column Systems North America Manager of Program Development Doc. No. . SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITY Direct Relationships: Manages change coordinator and program management employees for JCSNA, which may include individuals located in multiple JCSNA locations. Indirect Relationships: Will interface with all functional areas of the JCSNA organization, including plant level core teams, engineering, sales, finance, purchasing, quality, manufacturing, production control, upper management. Will interface with suppliers and customers. Will interface with other JCS and/or JTEKT Global affiliates. WORK ENVIRONMENT This position operates in a manufacturing facility and professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment. This position periodically will require time in manufacturing or test lab environments. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Minimum requirement to lift 32 pounds and pass a routine physical (pre hire) test. Bachelor's degree in Business or Engineering, or equivalent Experience in Program Management or leading cross-functional teams. Preferred 8-years automotive or related industry experience. Excellent written / verbal communication and organizational skills Proficient in Microsoft Office applications – especially Excel, Power Point, Project. Self-motivated, Team Player. PHYSICAL DEMANDS Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift 32 pounds at times. Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities. The employee is occasionally required to walk and reach with hands and arms. the employee is regularly required to stand; sit; use hands to handle, or feel and talk or hear. 9 POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK This is a full-time position. Regular office hours are Monday through Friday. This position regularly requires extended hours, including some weekend. 10 TRAVEL Travel to vendor and customer worksites may be required. Regular travel between JCSNA locations will be required.
