GENERAL SUMMARY Manages the operations of the Public Works Department for the Reservation. Manages and maintains infrastructure including energy projects; roads; public facilities, gymnasium, and administration buildings in addition to planning and inspection of new housing programs on the Reservation. CORE SCOPE OF POSITION * Works closely and communicates often with Dirt Connections for purposes of maximizing services provided as part of agreement, resulting in reduced costs to the tribe. * Manages projects and communicates often providing appropriate partners with proactive timelines, financial limitations, status updates and project changes. * Responds to all tribal members and tribal government request that are nonemergency related. * Monitors and supervises subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers. * Inspects and maintains tribal facilities, performing skilled and unskilled tasks such as painting, plumbing, electrical wiring, HVAC functions and other related maintenance activities. * Inspects chiller/boiler, Air Handler Unit (AHU) 3 in the gym and makes adjustments. * Performs a variety of administrative functions, including maintaining inventory records, preparing purchase orders for tools, equipment and other supplies as needed; and reviewing timecards. * Resolves problems beyond expectations without consulting a supervisor or escalates as needed. * Prepares weekly work schedule for the staff. * Ensure team members are briefed daily on the daily assignments, and all relevant information needed for their workday, including communicating company information found on Beekeeper. * Assigns, coordinates, and reviews the quality of work of maintenance workers. * Ensures quality standards for work are developed, communicated, and team members are held accountable for those standards. * Participates in hiring and disciplining of team members as needed. * Assists with on-the-job training of staff in the scope of the maintenance operations. * Participates in management meetings. * Sets up and maintains a clean, safe hazard-free environment by barricading and putting up safety signs. * Rounds up cattle in off-limits areas as needed. * May performs job duties after normal hours for emergency situations. * Performs all other duties as assigned. * Ensures that a clean, safe, hazard-free work environment is maintained. * Adheres to all company and department policies, procedures, and standard operating guidelines * Performs other duties as assigned.
