VESTAS TECHNOLOGY & OPERATIONS -> RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT (R&D) -> SOFTWARE PLATFORMS & CONNECTIVITY MODULE

The Software Platforms & Connectivity Module is a part of the Product Applications & Control Segment in Vestas R&D. The module is responsible for developing innovative software platforms, robust communication infrastructure, and advanced cybersecurity solutions. We focus on creating scalable and reliable platforms that support a wide range of applications and services. Our team ensures seamless and secure communication channels and we implement the newest measures to protect against evolving cyber security threats. The module consists of 155 people based in primarily Porto, Portugal and Aarhus, Denmark.
We are seeking a versatile and experienced manager to head our Quality Assurance (QA) sub-module in the Software Platforms & Connectivity Module. The Quality sub-module will support all other sub-modules in the module with QA activities. As a quality sub-module owner you will be collaborating with all software modules to affect, create insight to and heighten the maturity of the SW verification and validation processes. You will be directing a team of 9 people based in Porto, Portugal and Aarhus, Denmark.
You will be part of the Software Platforms & Connectivity Module Management team together with the Module Design Owner, Module Program Manager and the other Sub-module owners in the module.

QUALIFICATIONS

A requirement is a relevant education at Master level (5 years) with at least 5 years of experience within software quality assurance + at least 2 years of people leadership experience. Furthermore, to succeed within this role, you should be able to contribute with several of the following competences:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of QA methodologies, tools, and best practices
  • Experience with software development lifecycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies
  • Proficient management, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to set strategic direction and lead to results
  • Experience with automated testing tools and frameworks, quality audits and process compliance
  • Development of testing standards and guidelines and implementation and usage of Test management tool(s)
  • Interacting efficiently with executives and functional peer groups to gain support

Responsibilities:

RESPONSIBILITIES

The ideal candidate will have a solid background in software quality assurance, a strategic mindset, and the ability to coordinate a diverse team of QA professionals. This role is crucial in ensuring the quality of deliverables across all software modules, setting the vision and strategy for the QA department, and instilling best practices in software development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership & Strategy: You will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive QA strategy and vision for the module module. You will lead, mentor, and manage a team of 9 QA professionals and cultivate a culture of quality, continuous improvement, and collaboration within the QA department and across the organization
  • Quality Assurance: You will oversee the QA processes to ensure the highest standards of software quality. You will ensure all software deliverables meet or surpass quality standards and customer expectations by implementing and maintaining QA best practices, tools, and methodologies
  • Team Management: You will coordinate, and support team testers embedded in different development teams, ensuring they are aligned with the QA department’s goals and standards. You will conduct regular performance reviews, provide feedback, and support professional development for QA team members
  • Process Compliance & Audits: You will ensure compliance with internal and external quality standards and regulations. You will participate in quality audits and follow-up activities to ensure continuous improvement
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: You will work closely with software development teams, product managers, release train engineers, technical management and other stakeholders to ensure quality is integrated into the development process. You will communicate QA strategies, plans, and progress to senior management and other stakeholders
