Description:

MANAGER OF TECHNICAL SUPPORT & INSIDE SALES – WHOLESALE

Overview: GrowGeneration is one of the largest retailers of hydroponic products in the United States and is engaged in the business of marketing and distributing horticultural, organics, lighting and hydroponics products, including lighting fixtures, nutrients, seeds and growing media, systems, trays, fans, filters, humidifiers and dehumidifiers, timers, instruments, water pumps, irrigation supplies and hand tools.
Position Reports To: VP of Retail and Wholesale
Salary Range: $90K-$100k annually / DOQ
Purpose of Position: Responsible for providing expert technical support to customers and driving inside sales for Wholesale division.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, agriculture, business, or a related field
  • 6+ years of experience in technical support or inside sales, preferably within the agriculture or environmental control industry
  • Strong technical understanding of environmental control systems, automation, and sensor technologies
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts in a clear and concise manner
  • Proven ability to lead both technical support and sales teams, driving performance and customer satisfaction
  • Strong customer service mindset, with a focus on problem-solving and delivering a high-quality experience
  • Familiarity with CRM and ticketing systems for managing sales and support inquiries
  • Ability to develop and implement successful inside sales strategies, track performance, and meet sales goals
  • Proficiency in sales reporting and data analysis
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for customer visits and trade shows

Compensation includes a salary commensurate with experience, participation in group insurance plans upon eligibility, paid time off, sick leave, parental leave and more. Individual compensation packages are based on various factors unique to each candidate, including skill set, experience, qualifications, and other job-related reasons. Responsibilities:

  • Build and manage a technical sales support team, ensuring smooth product adoption and high customer satisfaction.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for technical support, offering guidance and troubleshooting to customers and partners
  • Lead and manage the inside sales team, driving sales targets and ensuring successful onboarding of new customers
  • Collaborate with engineering and product development teams to fully understand product functionality and provide expert-level technical support
  • Train customers and internal teams on product features, system setup, and best practices
  • Manage the technical support process from initial inquiry through to resolution, ensuring timely and effective support
  • Provide pre-sales technical consultation to help customers understand how solutions can meet their indoor agriculture needs
  • Develop and implement inside sales strategies, focusing on lead generation, customer acquisition, and retention
  • Maintain a deep understanding of customer needs and relay feedback to product development for continuous improvement
  • Create and deliver training materials, webinars, and resources to enhance customer knowledge and self-service capabilities
  • Work closely with the marketing team to align sales strategies and customer engagement with product campaigns
  • Analyze customer support trends and sales data to identify opportunities for product enhancements and new sales approaches
  • Manage key customer accounts, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and technical service
  • Other duties as assigned
