(Fortune) has been working for over 57 years in service to our mission: to support successful reentry from incarceration and promote alternatives to incarceration, thus strengthening the fabric of our communities. The organization has evolved into one of the nation’s preeminent reentry and justice-informed service organizations, providing formerly incarcerated people with the skills and wrap-around services needed to break the cycle of crime and incarceration and to build productive lives in their communities. Fortune has grown steadily over the years to an agency with close to $90 million in annual budget with just under 600 staff. We anticipate that we will keep growing, both in size and depth of service. Fortune has a dual mission: both advocacy and service. The advocacy portion of our mission focuses on building a more just criminal legal system and reducing the barriers to reentry into society. The service side of Fortune has evolved to encompass a broad range of programs that started with employment and education and now includes a robust array of services, among them: alternatives to incarceration, supervised release, court advocacy, discharge planning within correctional facilities, licensed substance use and mental health treatment, a housing continuum ranging from emergency and transitional through permanent congregate and scattered site housing, assistance in obtaining benefits, a care management unit, HIV services, a food and nutrition program, and an arts program. Each service we provide is informed by the needs of the population we serve. Fortune currently serves approximately 14,000 people a year.. Our program models are recognized, both nationally and internationally, for their quality and innovation. We have locations in Brooklyn, The Bronx, Manhattan and Queens. Position Summary: The Telecom Manager will interface with the day-to-day technical duties associated with all audio and visual communication systems, including phones, security cameras, access control, and copiers. Manage at least one technician/assistant or intern working directly under the Senior Facilities Technical Manager. Knowledge of Cameras and Access Control: Must have working knowledge of CCTV camera systems and keep all working at the highest level. Knowledge of Phone Systems: Must have some knowledge of desk phones and related software and be able to troubleshoot. Ability to Work with Others: Must be able to work with staff and vendors in a positive and productive manner. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Maintains all camera systems agency-wide. Works with external service providers to resolve technical issues as they arise. Upon request, with approval of AVP for Facilities Management, reviews camera playback footage on agency-wife camera systems, to identify issues and events and provides footage on a thumb drive to internal and external requesters. Logs all requests and keeps footage in active folder. Maintains hosted and PBX phone systems agency-wide and works with service providers to fix issues that arise on both ends. Troubleshoots phone issues agency-wide and where necessary makes repairs or replacements. Programs and deploys phones for new employees prior to their arrival. Maintains MITEL system information so that directory is kept up-to date. Works with IT Department in order to maintain connection to both camera and phone systems as necessary. Keeps an accurate inventory of all phone types including Mitel and Polycom. Send out all phones that require repairs to service providers and monitor their return. Notify AVP of Facilities Management when the need for new equipment is necessary. Other duties as assigned by the AVP for Facilities Management or his designee(s). Coordinate all photocopiers Agency-wide to assure highest level of service and work with AVP of Facilities Management to procure new leases prior to lease end. Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications Qualifications: Maintains all camera systems agency-wide. Works with external service providers to resolve technical issues as they arise. High school diploma or GED/HSE preferred. At least 2 years of experience working with security camera systems especially as it relates to reviewing playback footage. At least 5 years of experience working with hosted and PBX phone devices including, but not limited to programming, connecting and trouble-shooting as necessary. Working knowledge of Mitel phones and PBX systems including associated software. Working knowledge of hosted Polycom phones. Working knowledge of HikVision and Axis camera systems. Working knowledge of Axis and Ubiquiti and 2N access control systems. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Ability to work under pressure with a common goal of completing all work as necessary.
