SUMMARY The Manager of Training and Staff Development will assist with the coordination of all agency training efforts, maintenance of training records and the marketing of the training program to external customers. This position will also include conducting trainings to all agency personnel. Shares responsibility for the DDS Medication Certification Administration Process and the DSP Credentialing Process. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Provide backup training for staff at various venues, including in-person and virtual (Zoom, Microsoft Teams, etc.). Ensure efficient and timely delivery of all training courses, ensuring they meet in-service objectives and are up to date. Assist in developing and modifying training curricula, ensuring material is current, clear, and professionally presented using various media. Maintain and protect training equipment/materials and stay updated on developments in human services and evidence-based practices. Audit other instructors’ training to ensure objectives are met and mandatory material is covered. Publish the monthly training calendar and manage live event training sessions and staff enrollments in the Relias Learning Management system. Communicate training requirements and track training hours, attendance, tardiness, and staff feedback. Serve as either the agency’s DDS Medication Certification Coordinator, liaising with the DDS Medication Administration Unit, managing certifications, scheduling on-site classes, and handling documentation and discipline. OR the agency's DSP Credentialing Coordinator. Proctor DDS Medication Certification re-certification exams. Attend required staff and management meetings and participate in the Training Committee. Schedule managers to instruct specialized in-services and provide Train the Trainer sessions. Conduct spot checks to ensure training objectives are met. Instruct external customer training programs and provide supervision to other trainers as needed. Assist the Senior Director with maintaining training records in Relias and SharePoint, issuing reminders, and managing disciplinary actions for outdated trainings. Provide coverage for AHST training classes and ensure safe vehicle operation when required. QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s degree in education-related studies or four years of relevant experience in human services, adult education, or human resources development. Experience teaching adult learners is preferred. Valid Connecticut driver's license. Valid certifications or the ability to obtain CPR Instructor, First Aid Instructor, and PMT Instructor.
