The Ministry of Jobs, Economy and Trade is looking for a strategic leader to manage Alberta’s Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) and Workers’ Compensation Board (WCB) Policy and Legislation Team.
Reporting to the Director of OHS and WCB Policy and Legislation, the Manager will lead a team of professionals responsible for the development and maintenance of the OHS and workers’ compensation legislation. This position will lead a team of policy analysts to provide strategic advice, technical analysis and interpretation, and issues management related to OHS and workers’ compensation policy and legislation.
The Manager will work with the Director to develop stakeholder-responsive policy and legislation and help steer proposed legislation through approval processes. The position will help lead stakeholder engagement or public consultation. The Manager will liaise with internal and external stakeholders to understand workplace issues or provide OHS or workers’ compensation expertise. Additionally, they will lead cross-divisional projects related to the interpretation and application of OHS or workers’ compensation legislation.
The Manager demonstrates effective leadership with a focus on advancing staff engagement and development.
