We’re looking for an experienced Manager Operational Risk to join our Second Line Risk team and play a key role in strengthening our control environment across the bank. This is a true Second Line role, where you’ll provide independent oversight, advice and challenge to help embed effective operational risk management across Westpac New Zealand. You’ll work closely with senior stakeholders, influencing how operational risk is identified, assessed and managed within appetite. Key responsibilities include: Providing high quality Second Line oversight, monitoring and reporting Advising and challenging the business on risk maturity and the effective application of the Operational Risk Framework Supporting uplift of the control environment, including control quality, ownership and end-to-end effectiveness Building trusted relationships with the business and Senior Risk Business Partners Helping resolve complex operational risk issues across the bank Promoting a strong risk culture aligned to the Three Lines of Defence model Nā tāu rourou | What will you bring? We’re looking for a practical, confident risk professional who can cut through complexity and influence at pace.
