Job Title: Manager, Payroll
Location(s): Milpitas, CA - Onsite
Compensation: $129,000 - $138,000
About this position:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Manager to join our Finance & Accounting team. In this role, you will oversee payroll operations for U.S. employees, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. You’ll collaborate closely with Accounting and HR partners while driving improvements to payroll processes and systems to support a growing global organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and prepare end-to-end payroll processing for U.S. employees, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with federal, state, and local laws.
  • Maintain payroll systems and employee records, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.
  • Partner with Finance and HR to reconcile payroll data, support audits, and process year-end reporting (W-2, 1099, etc.).
  • Monitor and implement regulatory changes impacting payroll and recommend process improvements.
  • Provide guidance and timely responses to employee inquiries regarding pay, tax deductions, and timekeeping.
  • Manage the Fidelity 401K plan by ensuring timely funding transmissions, coordinating compliance testing, and preparing year-end audit documentation.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5+ years of payroll experience, with at least 2 years in a payroll management or lead role.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and California payroll laws, compliance, and reporting requirements.
  • Hands-on experience with payroll systems (e.g., Paycor, ADP, Paycom, or similar).
  • Advanced Excel skills and ability to analyze payroll data for accuracy.
  • Excellent attention to detail, confidentiality, and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation.
  • Experience in a multi-state payroll environment.
  • Familiarity with HRIS integrations and process automation.
  • Experience working in technology, manufacturing, or related industries.
