Your role at St John of God Subiaco Hospital Responsible for ensuring the smooth running of the Operating Theatre suite through the effective management of key service teams, and clinical resources including equipment, consumables and supplies. The Position Provide leadership and management of the Orthopaedic & Neuro Technicians, Orderlies, Theatre Technician teams. Ensuring appropriate workforce levels through recruitment and caregiver retention. Management and development of the Coordinators/Supervisors in these areas. Oversee all rosters for these areas to ensure resources are available when and where they are required for patient safety and care. Leading quality, safety and efficiency improvements across all these areas. Monitoring and addressing all caregiver performance and/or behavioural issues including performance management processes if necessary. Monitoring and taking action on all key caregiver metrics including turnover, sick rates and recruitment gaps. Financial stewardship: assists in managing the department budget, identifying opportunities for cost efficiencies. Ensure the availability of theatres equipment, instrumentation and consumables to VMOs and caregivers. Work with the Nurse Service Managers to formulate and manage capital budgets and procurement for the theatre suite. Responsibility for ordering and delivery tracking. Managing relationships with all suppliers including medical representatives. Regular liaison with the CSSD Manager including on procurement of new items. Reviewing data relating to the recording of Prostheses and act on wastage and variances Work as part of the Theatres Management Team alongside the Clinical Nurse Managers and Perioperative Flow Managers to continually develop theatre services. Assists in developing, implementing and reviewing specific departmental orientation programs with managers, acts as a preceptor as required. Stakeholder liaison – acts as the primary point of contact between surgical teams, anaesthesia, and management team to ensure cohesive service delivery. You will have significant experience working within a healthcare setting, preferably perioperative and experience managing and developing operational teams with an internal customer service ethos. To succeed you will possess the ability to build strong working relationships with nursing teams, medical practitioners and other key stakeholders and have a high level of analytical and report writing skills.
