Responsibilities
  • Lead a well-established team of procurement professionals directly supporting the operations sourcing, purchasing, and warehousing and inventory management programs at the Allan mine site
  • Directly support and ensure the site procurement team adheres to all site safety programs and requirements, as well as upholding our high ethical standards in sourcing and supplier engagements through our sourcing processes, in compliance with company procurement policies and procedures.
  • Effectively partner and maintain positive relationships with other departments and leadership to understand and meet the operational needs of the site through a procurement and supply chain lens
  • Collaborate with procurement leadership across the potash operating segment and other functions and segments (capital, category management, functional excellence, Indigenous supply chain) to identify and execute value and continuous improvement opportunities which will bring sustainable positive impact to the business
  • Lead by example with a curious and collaborative mindset to empower and continue building the strategic skillset of the team, delivering high quality service levels to our internal customers and mitigating risks while maintaining key relationships within our supply chain.
  • Through collaboration with the procurement teams and key stakeholders, identify and execute on site and network business value opportunities, coordinating strategic sourcing initiatives, and optimizing daily support work
  • Ensure aligned development and implementation of site specific and network procurement strategies, governance, training, leadership fundamentals, and management of supplier relationships and engagements
  • Support Indigenous supplier development initiatives and build strong relationships to drive trust and investment in Saskatchewan Indigenous suppliers
  • Oversee daily warehouse operations, leading a team comprising both staff and unionized team members, with responsibility for fostering a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Control and monitor inventory levels using in place technology, ensuring accurate real-time tracking and supporting continuous improvement in inventory accuracy.
  • Coordinate warehouse workflows and leverage digital tools to streamline product receiving, picking, staging, and shipping processes.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to optimize inventory management and warehouse efficiency, including minimizing paperwork, enhancing product traceability, and improving team productivity.
  • Foster collaboration between teams to ensure operational consistency and adherence to standard practices.
