POSITION SUMMARY

The Product Manager supports the product lifecycle (development, modifications, management and continual process improvement) for CCHP’s portfolio of plans, as well as health partnerships and community engagement. They are responsible for evaluating the success of each product at a detailed level of granularity. The candidate should bring a level of curiosity and a bias for proactively collaborating with Clinical, Finance, Member Services and other teams to ensure that CCHP remains competitive with a strong and compelling product suite as possible to brokers, Human Resource leaders and other decision makers. CCHP believes that strong community partnerships are critical to this success, as such this role will be involved in identifying and developing opportunities with local organizations within CCHP coverage areas.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Presentation skills in front of 50+ people (brokers, providers, members, internal)
  • Bachelor’s degree in public health, public policy, business, mathematics, statistics, public administration, health/social science or other related field, or relevant experience as a substitute.
  • Comfortable with 3 days per week onsite (at one of our offices or in the field of growth, other promotional and community events).
  • Experience with planning, development and implementation of product policies while partnering with technology to automate related business operations.
  • Experience with federal and state regulatory compliance for health insurance plans.
  • Experience developing product portfolio offerings across multiple lines of business.
  • Experience providing oversight to ensure the successful regulatory filing of all required product materials.
  • Strong project management, organizational, influence and leadership skills
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience
  • Excellent oral, written, interpersonal and public speaking communication skills.
  • Solid organizational and problem-solving skills and a keen eye for details

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Use proper body mechanics when handling equipment
  • Standing, walking and moving 50% of the day.

COMPLIANCE REQUIREMENTS

Complies with CCHP Compliance Handbook including Code of Ethics and all statutes, regulations, guidelines applicable to federal and state programs. Responsibilities include, following the guidelines and reporting suspected violations of any statute, regulations, agreements or guidelines applicable to all healthcare programs.

Responsibilities
  • Comfortable with starting with ambiguity and turning that into structure.
  • Develop framework to drill down product profitability/success metrics by Medical Group, my Primary Care Physician, by Broker and by Zip Code to influence continuous process improvement across how the product is experienced as members turn to patients.
  • Develops a deep understanding of the needs and motivations of local partners (health organizations, non-profits and thought leaders) and determines opportunities for collaboration and mutually beneficial business engagement.
  • Develop strategies for key programs that help engage and build relationships with the community and other aligned partners.
  • “Voice of the Member” disposition who advocates for increased retention.
  • Works closely with Medical Group, hospital partners and overall provider community
  • Aligns various stakeholders to marketing strategies/plans to advance Balance
  • Partners with colleagues within Marketing and across the CCHP organization to align narratives, branding, and marketing programs around the broader CCHP mission, vision and brand.
  • Supports the CCHP health insurance plan portfolio strategy development process for the Individual and Employer markets.
  • Provides input into the design of CCHP’s insurance products with significant individual discretion after soliciting input from CCHP Senior Managers.
  • Assists with the management, coordination and communication of product development activities with all CCHP departments.
  • Helps oversee the successful bid and renewal cycle of CCHP’s participation with Covered California, CMS Medicare Advantage, and other regulators, as needed.
  • Involved as a strategic advisor and planner for Covered California related submissions regarding Qualify Health Plan (QHP) Individual and Employer markets.
  • Supports the preparation of all filings and ensure the delivery of all materials as required for the annual Qualified Health Plan (QHP) filings.
  • Supports the development and filing of the regulatory documents required for annual QHP certification: auditing for accuracy, and finalizing Schedule of Benefits, Summary of Benefits and Coverage, and other plan documents, ensuring that all filing documentation is distributed and displayed for all downstream users.
  • Ensures proactive communication of all new/revised plan designs to internal and external stakeholders, including but not limited to, providers, brokerages, general agents and network partners.
  • Collaborates with and provides strategic direction to Compliance, Legal and Regulatory Affairs teams to ensure that our plan designs comply with local, state and federal government requirements.
