Overview of Role Reporting to the Manager, Product Commercialization & Engineering (Global), you will be our go-to person for product commercialization activities in Vietnam (VN), including collaborations with global cross functional teams such as Platform Product Development (PPD) team in the US and Project & Tooling team from our Manufacturing partner in VN & China. You will also play a key technical leadership role in VN to ensure the commercialization of new products is completed on time and in line with BOA expectations for cost, quality and speed to market. Core Responsibilities • Reflect and role model BOA’s vision, values and Leadership Model and demonstrate passion for our mission across the Product Commercialization & Engineering team and rest of the organization. • Lead, coach and develop the team in VN including Tooling and Injection, Inspection and Testing. • Work with your direct reports to set and review performance/development goals, discuss feedback regularly, and formally summarize during performance reviews. • Maintain a deep understanding of the BOA Product Development Process, work closely with the PPD team to drive process improvements to ensure product commercialization excellence. • Ownership of VN tooling construction and qualification process and best practices. • Technical leadership of VN tooling and injection molding, act as decision maker for any relative technical issue. • Oversee VN inspection & testing lab to ensure alignments between BOA and key suppliers and deliver in time support for mold qualification on time. • Look further into the future of manufacturing for the development of new manufacturing methods and innovative sustainable solutions • Build and foster partnerships with suppliers, develop qualifications and implementation plans of new innovative technologies, processes, and systems. • Collaboratively identify initiatives and contribute to team operating plans creation Required Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Plastics Engineering • 8+ years’ experience working directly with tooling development & injection production • Subject matter expertise in tooling and injection molding, including knowledge of a wide variety of plastic materials • Ability to work with 3rd party manufacturing partners, with strong influencing skills to transit opportunities into operational plans. • Hands on experience on driving improvements with cross functional teams • Ability to travel globally, ~10% (mostly vendor factory & BOA global offices: China & US) • Good verbal and written communication in English, another language either Vietnamese or Chinese Desired Qualifications • New Product Development experience is a plus We Offer We’re committed to helping our people be themselves, be well, and grow.
