We govern products end to end — from design and distribution through to ongoing monitoring and change. We support the professional and collaborative Customer, Products and Services division ensuring products remain fit for purpose, meeting our customers current and future needs. Delivering fair customer outcomes across the product lifecycle is a core goal. Mō te Tūranga | About the Role We sat down with the People Leader (who you would report to), and they told us the following about the role: This is a permanent full-time role based in Auckland. It is a hybrid role with three days in the office and two days where you can work flexibly. Anchor days in the office are Tuesdays and Wednesdays. What are 5 day to day tasks the person in this role will complete? Lead the operationalization of foundational product governance frameworks Provide support, advice and guidance to colleagues on customer outcomes and adherence to frameworks Review and challenge reviews and development initiatives Lead monitoring and insights-based action strategies Manage the Governance Committee agenda, meetings and associated activities. What essential technical skills are required for this role? Minimum 5 years’ experience working in operational risk, conduct, compliance risk, and/or Financial Services Minimum 2 years’ experience in Product Development environments Experience supporting committees with scheduling, minutes, and preparation of meeting packs Working with big data sets to drive meaningful insights Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (such as Word, Excel PowerPoint and SharePoint) Interest in and/or experience with the use of AI What attributes will this person display in order to be successful in this role? Curiosity: think critically to analyse, interpret and evaluate data and insights Communicative: excellent verbal and written communication Collaboration: engage meaningfully with stakeholders and simplify complex terms to support them Credible: operational risk, conduct, compliance risk, and/or Financial Services, and product development experience What is the team culture and environment like? The Product Governance team is focused on continuing to evolve the way we govern products and services at BNZ across the lifecycle to deliver great outcomes for our customers. This means we are exploring ways we can use big data, AI and innovative thinking to support our teams with the decisions and actions they take. Why did the last person leave this role? The last person has grown their own business in their spare time and has now taken the leap to work on that business full time, stepping away from the corporate environment.
