Description

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain pricing frameworks (static and dynamic), rate cards, costing models, approval thresholds and governance processes to ensure consistency, transparency and commercial control.
  • Own the end-to-end pricing process for strategic road freight tenders, RFQs, contract renewals and major customer opportunities, ensuring submissions are competitive, operationally viable and aligned with target margins.
  • Work closely with Sales, KAMs, Operations, Pricing, and Procurement to convert customer requirements into scalable and profitable road freight solutions.
  • Own product pricing frameworks, lane profitability, service-level design, and go-to-market support to improve revenue, gross profit, and market share.
  • Provide pricing recommendations and commercial insights to senior management, including assessments of opportunity value, profitability, operational risk and required approval levels.
  • Analyse UAE and GCC road freight market trends, competitor pricing, customer demand, trade-lane activity and capacity movements to identify growth and pricing opportunities.
  • Develop comprehensive cost models covering fuel, tolls, driver costs, maintenance, leasing, asset depreciation, fleet utilisation, border charges and subcontractor rates.
  • Partner with Operations and Fleet teams to validate operational assumptions, capacity requirements, service feasibility and route economics before finalising customer pricing.
  • Drive improvements in revenue and margin performance through pricing reviews, customer and lane segmentation, route optimisation, yield management and value-added transport solutions.
  • Monitor and report pricing and operational performance, including gross margin, revenue per truck, fleet utilisation, customer yield, lane profitability, quotation conversion and pricing leakage.
  • Conduct regular post-award and post-implementation reviews to compare actual performance against pricing assumptions and implement corrective actions where required.
  • Lead commercial negotiations relating to rates and pricing structures with customers, transport vendors, subcontractors and service providers.
  • Develop mechanisms to manage pricing risks arising from fuel volatility, capacity constraints, border restrictions, regulatory changes, foreign exchange movements and other market conditions.
  • Ensure pricing activities comply with DP World policies, delegated authority levels, contractual requirements, UAE transport regulations and applicable commercial governance standards.
  • Build strong relationships with Commercial, Operations, Fleet, Finance and Procurement stakeholders and ensure pricing issues are resolved promptly and transparently.
  • Develop pricing forecasts, management reports and performance dashboards to support planning, budgeting and executive decision-making.
  • Lead, coach and develop product and pricing team members, as applicable, while establishing clear outcome based objectives, service standards and performance expectations.
  • Continuously improve pricing tools, processes and data quality, including supporting the implementation and optimisation of transport management and pricing systems.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 7–10 years of relevant experience in road freight pricing, transport operations, freight forwarding or logistics, including at least 2–3 years in a managerial, team-lead or senior pricing role.
  • Proven experience developing and implementing pricing strategies, costing frameworks, rate structures and commercial governance processes.
  • Strong understanding of road freight cost structures, including fleet operating costs, fuel, tolls, maintenance, driver costs, leasing, utilisation, depreciation and subcontractor rates.
  • Demonstrated experience managing pricing and margin performance across domestic and cross-border FTL, LTL and dedicated fleet services.
  • Proven ability to lead the pricing component of complex tenders, RFQs, contract renewals and strategic customer proposals.
  • Strong commercial negotiation experience with customers, transport vendors, subcontractors and service providers.
  • Experience analysing pricing and operational KPIs, including gross margin, lane profitability, revenue per truck, fleet utilisation and customer yield.
  • Advanced analytical and financial-modelling skills, with strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and pricing or business-intelligence tools.
  • Strong stakeholder-management and communication skills, with the ability to influence senior commercial, operational and financial stakeholders.
  • Previous experience in an asset-heavy logistics, transport or freight-management business.
  • Strong knowledge of UAE and GCC road freight markets, transport regulations, border processes and cross-border trade corridors.
  • Experience with transport management systems, pricing automation tools, telematics platforms, business-intelligence tools or revenue-optimisation systems.
  • Experience using fleet-utilisation, route-optimisation and transport-productivity data to inform pricing decisions.
  • Experience managing or developing pricing analysts or other commercial team members.
  • Exposure to budgeting, forecasting, business planning and commercial performance reporting.
  • Professional certification in supply chain, logistics, finance or commercial management would be an advantage.
