Job Description Versant Media’s Content and Operations group is seeking a Manager, Product (Production Operations) to lead product strategy and delivery across production workflow management. Reporting to the Director of Product (Content Operations), this role oversees a team of 2-5 Product Owners and Specialists responsible for enabling, streamlining, and optimizing end-to-end production workflows. This Manager will serve as a subject matter expert across production operations, defining and delivering capabilities that modernize and integrate tools used to manage show trackers, asset delivery, metadata, and production documentation. The scope spans onboarding of new platforms (e.g., Airtable, Frame.IO), optimization of existing processes, and ensuring security, reliability, and compliance across production data and asset workflows. You’ll own the product vision and roadmap for production operations, partner with stakeholders across Production, Content Operations, Scheduling, and Finance, and embed automation and scalability into the platforms that power Versant’s production ecosystem. Core Responsibilities People Leadership & Coaching – Hire, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of Product Owners; create an environment that fosters collaboration, ownership, and continuous growth. Domain Strategy & Vision – Define and evolve the strategy for production workflow tools and integrations, aligning platform investments with operational requirements and stakeholder needs. Workflow Optimization & Integration – Partner with production, scheduling, and operations teams to streamline core workflows such as deal memos, production trackers, and asset delivery processes. Prioritize interoperability, consistency, and automation across systems. AI & Automation Enablement – Embed intelligent automation into production workflows, including metadata tagging, anomaly detection, predictive reporting, and automated tracker population from external forms and production partners. Delivery Oversight – Drive end-to-end delivery across your portfolio, facilitating planning, sprint execution, and delivery milestones while removing roadblocks. Operational Resilience – Champion robust instrumentation, data governance, and controls that ensure sensitive production data (financial, scheduling, legal) is securely managed with broadcast-grade reliability. Stakeholder Communication – Provide clear, executive-ready updates on product direction, roadmap progress, and delivery risks; co-lead production partner and vendor conversations as needed. Legacy Modernization – Lead the transition of production workflows from fragmented Excel/SharePoint trackers to cloud-native, integrated platforms. Partner with architecture and engineering teams to deliver scalable, secure, event-driven solutions. Qualifications Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Media, Product Management, Operations, or a related field. 5+ years in production, operations, or media environments, including 3+ years with direct people management responsibility. Hands-on experience with production operations workflows, including show trackers, asset delivery, metadata management, or production finance documentation. Proven ability to lead product teams responsible for high-scale, operationally critical workflows. Strong communication and facilitation skills across technical, operational, and vendor stakeholder groups. Comfort with Jira/Confluence and production-related tooling such as Airtable, Frame.IO, asset management systems, and metadata libraries. Preferred Qualifications Strong technical fluency with the ability to engage deeply with engineering and architecture teams—able to interpret system designs, discuss implementation tradeoffs, and contribute to technical planning. Familiarity with metadata governance, production documentation workflows, and partner requirements. Experience transitioning manual or legacy spreadsheet-based workflows to secure, cloud-based, automated platforms. Certifications such as CSPO, SAFe POPM, or PMP are a plus. Deep empathy for production users and a passion for building tools that reduce complexity at scale. Familiarity with AI/ML concepts and curiosity in applying them to enhance production workflows (e.g., auto-populating trackers, metadata enrichment, anomaly detection).
