The Opportunity
Reporting to the Director of Product and Learner Success (PaLS) a department within Continuing Education and Professional Studies, the Manager, Product is an inspirational leader of leaders that fosters innovation and the creation of highly impactful learning experiences.
This role is responsible for providing strategic leadership and management of SAIT’s non-credit (continuing education) product offerings. This position provides leadership in all aspects of their work, including engaging staff, supporting change management, fostering innovation, ensuring academic quality, and product management best practices.
Additionally, the Manager will be accountable for continuous improvement in Continuing Education and Professional Studies product growth, which includes open enrollment, domestic and international corporate training, and international certificate programs, by working cross-divisionally, across SAIT, and with external partners. This position is also responsible for the development and advancement of SAIT’s micro-credential strategy.
The position will contribute to SAIT student success through strong cross-institutional collaboration, supporting excellence in product quality and enhancing the learner journey. Key to this is building strong partnerships, collaboration, and working relationships both internally and externally with industry, associations, and other education providers.
The Role
Product Leadership (50%)
Oversee the creation of new product ideas, parameters, and designs. This involves conducting market research, understanding customer demand, and coordinating with cross-functional teams like Learning Experience and Design, Delivery, Marketing, and Sales.
Provide senior leadership to Product Managers and Product Coordinators; hire, evaluate and manage the performance of staff accordingly, foster a collaborative environment and ensure clear communication across all levels of the product team.
Responsible for leading CEPS learning product innovation, expanding into new and innovative program areas and learning experiences and ensuring the CEPS products remain competitive.
Manage Product Lifecycle: Guide CEPS product through the entire lifecycle, from conception to launch, and beyond, including iterations and enhancements based on market feedback.
Budget management: ensuring budgets, resources and processes are optimized, effectively used and accurately reported
Accountable for product excellence & quality. Monitor and assess product performance using key metrics to ensure targets are met and to inform future product development strategies.
Planning and Strategy (25%)
With the Director, and in collaboration with other leaders in CDARI and the Academic Division, development of a product strategy for CEPS to ensure the achievement of short, medium, and long-term goals in alignment with divisional and institutional strategic and internal operational plans (i.e. SAIT Strategy, Product Roadmap & Plan, Micro-credential, CEPS strategy), as well as other defined subdivision KPIs (revenue, margin, instructor and employee engagement)
Develop and implement plans and metrics to achieve strategic product objectives
Ensure alignment of staff annual performance goals to CEPS strategic objectives
Regularly measure progress on plans and their impact and adjust the course of action when required
Responsible for the communication and alignment of the CEPS product vision and strategy across CEPS as well as key stakeholders within SAIT (e.g. Academic Division, CDARI, Marketing)
Stakeholder and Industry Engagement (25%)
Ensure learning products are informed, developed and maintained in close consultation with Academic schools, industry and community partners
Develop an understanding of industry’s talent challenges, market trends to guide an optimal learning experience and product focus
Collaborate across the institution to foster positive working relationships and remove barriers
Develop relationships with relevant funding bodies, lead the development of funding proposals where appropriate, and be responsible for reporting and managing funded programs.
Create, foster and maintain industry, association and other educational organizations partnerships, collaborations and inputs for the benefit of program relevance and quality
Represent the PaLS on cross-institutional projects, teams and/or committees as required
Qualifications
Minimum
Bachelor degree in education, business administration or leadership
Minimum of ten years’ experience in leadership roles. A combination of education and experience will be considered.
Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective and engaging relationships
Preferred
Postgraduate degree in education, business administration or leadership

Salary Range: $95,000- $144,000
