Primary Duties & Responsibilities Factory Setup Phase: The Production Manager will lead the end-to-end manufacturing readiness for Project 3613 – a high-tech, semiconductor-based expansion initiative. This role is responsible for ensuring factory setup, equipment installation, and process standardization to enable large-scale production ramp-up. The manager will drive recruitment and training of approximately 800 employees, establish robust operational processes, and collaborate cross-functionally to achieve factory readiness by early Q2/FY27. Mass Production Phase: Oversee and manage the entire TECs production process. Ensure on-time delivery, quality standards, and production efficiency are consistently met Manage daily production schedules, manpower allocation, and machine utilization. Monitor WIP and coordinate closely with PIC, Process, PPM, NPT, NPI departments. Identify production issues and implement corrective and preventive actions. Drive continuous improvement initiatives on productivity, cost reduction, and waste minimization. Lead, train, and motivate the production team to achieve operational excellence. Ensure compliance with health, safety, and labor regulations. Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Chemical, Electronic, or Materials Engineering (or equivalent). Minimum 8 years of relevant management experience, including 3+ years in a leadership/managerial role. Experience in manufacturing environments; semiconductor experience is a plus. Demonstrated ability to lead teams and drive results through others. Skills Production Process Management: Ability to oversee end-to-end operations from kitting to packing, ensuring quality and efficiency. Planning & Resource Allocation: Skilled in managing production schedules, manpower planning, and machine utilization. Problem-Solving & Continuous Improvement: Strong capability to identify issues, implement corrective actions, and drive productivity and cost-reduction initiatives. Leadership & Team Development: Experience in leading, training, and motivating large teams to achieve operational excellence. Compliance & Quality Assurance: Knowledge of health, safety, labor regulations, and quality standards to maintain compliance and product integrity. Working Conditions Manufacturing environment with exposure to chemicals, machine oils, and production equipment. Requires frequent presence on the production floor for monitoring, troubleshooting, and team supervision. Must operate in a dynamic environment with rapid changes and high expectations for problem resolution. Mental alertness and strong visual attention required for process oversight and engineering analysis. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, and move across production areas for extended periods. Capability to interact with manufacturing equipment and handle engineering tools/materials as needed. Ability to follow EH&S requirements and use personal protective equipment (PPE). Must perform detailed visual inspections and work with fine-scale components when required. Safety Requirements All employees are required to follow the site EHS procedures and Coherent Corp.
