Job Summary Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Production Manager is accountable for executing the daily and weekly production plan, delivering safety, quality, service, and cost targets across assigned shifts. This role leads frontline operations, drives performance through supervisors and leads, and ensures disciplined execution, rapid problem-solving, and continuous improvement on the plant floor. Job Functions * Accountability to ensure that the manufacturing facility operates in accordance with all current Plant Rules, Code of Safe Work Practices, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Food Safety Policies, and apply disciplinary action when necessary * Manage all production SOPs, Batch Records and other documentation needed for cGMP production requirements  * Accountable for safe execution of all production activities across shifts; Manage all safety measures for accident prevention through scheduled departmental and shift safety meetings, working with salaried and hourly supervisors and leads to ensure employee compliance  * Drive first pass product quality through appropriate manufacturing programs and by working with Quality Assurance and related departments. * Leads root cause problem-solving and ensures sustained corrective actions for - all Corrective and Preventative Action (CAPA) audits that systematically identifies root-cause and results in improvements to organizational processes that rectify and prevent non-conformities or other deviation from recurring in quality, safety and etcetera, document and implement corrective actions, audit for on-going compliance; organize and facilitate all production activities to ensure conformance to established requirements regarding safety, quality, employee-relations, attainment of production schedule and cost targets. * Lead, motivate, coach, evaluate and train exempt employees and non-exempt union production employees, develop weekly crewing schedules, and assess department development needs, working with company policies, the collective bargaining agreement, the IIPP, and regulatory guidelines.  * Provide feedback and coaching with the goal of building and maintaining a technically qualified staff, well-trained in the techniques of the company’s juice manufacturing and packaging processes. Provide developmental coaching and feedback on leadership skills to direct reports as needed  * Participate in the preparation of departmental costs and variance analysis. * Facilitate and support employee involvement in Safety, data-based problem-solving, vendor internal customer relations (other departments), an atmosphere of teamwork and collaboration  * Ensure effective and timely communication across functions, employees, shifts and vendors,  * Coordinate with Supply Chain and Apple Supply in scheduling of supplies, packaging, and staffing to optimize productivity and performance.  * Work with maintenance to coordinate and improve performance of startups, changeovers, repairs, preventative maintenance, emergency repair escalation, special projects, staffing support, analyze downtime causes and work collaboratively to correct and improve, and cross-train personnel  * Monitor and analyze productivity data and lead/facilitate improvement initiatives  * Use Redzone supportive technology and data to identify losses and drive measurable improvements for downtime and cost reduction. * Be able to work various shifts/hours, assist production employees in the performance of their duties in a manufacturing environment  * Performs other duties or responsibilities as assigned by Management  Job Qualifications * Bachelor’s degree in related field or seven (7) + years direct experience  * Have a minimum of three (3) years’ experience in direct supervision of non-exempt employees, preferably in food manufacturing or agricultural goods processing  * Ability to coach and mentor staff, exercise logic and reason using fact-based decision making  * Possess excellent oral and written communication abilities, and have a high attention to detail  * Strong mathematical and Microsoft Office skills – Outlook, Word, and advanced Excel  Preferred Skills (Not Required)  * Bilingual/bi-literate in English/Spanish * Proven experience managing employees in a unionized environment  Company Standard Knowledge, Skills and Abilities * Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.  * Ability to establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with Company staff and others contacted in the course of work.  * Ability to assume responsibility and exercise good judgment in making decisions within the scope of authority of the position.  * Ability to readily adapt to changing priorities and take direction from more than one staff member.  * Ability to think and work effectively under pressure and accurately complete tasks within established times.  * Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, to prioritize tasks, meet multiple deadlines and ensure that work is accomplished in the time frames required.  * Ability to be highly organized and provide careful attention to detail and accuracy.  * Ability to exercise individual initiative and discretion in confidential matters and to respect confidential matters.
