WHAT WE DO:

This role is pivotal for New Product Development (NPD) ensuring the highest standards of quality, safety, and regulatory compliance of Supernal products and processes. and will work in close collaboration with cross-functional teams, including engineering, safety, supply chain, manufacturing, legal, and policy.
This role also develops and leads the implementation of Supernal’s supplier development & quality roadmap. This will include supplier/partner identification and selection, development and implementation of supply chain plans, manufacturing strategy support, and supplier relationship management. This role will lead/support projects across the entire lifecycle: supplier identification, supplier qualification, new product introduction, rate increase, and mass production to meet quality, total cost, timely delivery, and inventory goals.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the quality team (supplier quality, quality assurance and inspectors) to establish and implement strategies and day-to-day tactics:
  • Develop and implement a rigorous quality strategy for NPD projects, meeting or exceeding industry standard and regulatory requirements using a phased planning process with specific results that are established, supervised, and tracked to closure, while highlighting and mitigating risks as they are identified
  • Develop and improve supplier capabilities, ensuring they meet or exceed Supernal’s standards for quality, schedule adherence, and project risk mitigation, thereby supporting Supernal’s short and long-term success
  • Develop and define a Quality Assurance and Supplier Quality Management framework and processes that align with Supernal’s overall Quality Management System (QMS) in compliance with FAA 14 Code of Federal Regulation Part 21.137 and AS9100.
  • Performance metrics, internally and externally
  • Supplier control, nonconformance management, corrective action management, inspection and test, equipment control, training programs, audit support, continuous improvement, etc.
  • Implement and champion the Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) effort internally and externally (suppliers) and ensure timely production qualifications using the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) methodology for series production
  • Leadership of a cross functional team and ability to influence decision making at all levels of the business
  • Build the necessary team and implement technologies/software systems to execute quality processes
  • Represent quality in change control process for design reviews, drawing release and change approvals
  • Collaborate with design & manufacturing engineering team to ensure quality is built into the design and manufacturing processes
  • Collaborate with the supply chain and procurement team to develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive supplier performance metrics
  • Serve as a conduit/liaison between Supernal’s technical team and suppliers to facilitate design-for-manufacturing reviews
