Description
Oversee and ensure the creation of comprehensive production design documents, including shop drawings, piece part drawings, detailed drawings, packing drawings, assembly drawings, board and timber cutting lists, bill of materials, and packing lists. Coordinate closely with the production, sales, SCM, MRP, and warehouse departments to achieve 100% accuracy and alignment with project specifications. Key Responsibilities: Lead the R&D team in developing new products and improving existing ones. Get modified existing designs of all product categories based on feedback from Sales, Product, Marketing, and other departments. Identify design gaps, conduct thorough analyses, and make improvements as needed. Conduct market research to identify trends in furniture design and customer preferences. Collaborate with product design teams to integrate innovative technologies and materials into product designs. Lead the new development, ensuring innovative designs and timely delivery. Manage the prototyping and testing phases of product development to ensure compliance with industry standards. Liaise with design & technical to ensure feasible and cost-effective manufacturing processes. Stay updated on industry advancements and competitor products. Develop and manage the R&D department's budget, ensuring resources are used efficiently. Prepare regular reports on R&D activities and progress for senior management. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Product Design, Furniture Design, Interior Design, or Industrial Design from a recognized institution. 8–10 years of progressive experience in product design and development, with a minimum of 3–5 years in a managerial or team leadership role within a design or manufacturing environment. Strong proficiency in design and visualization software, including AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and 3ds Max. Excellent understanding of product development processes, material selection, and manufacturing feasibility. Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills with the ability to collaborate across departments.
