Responsibilities

YOUR NEW ROLE LOOKS LIKE THIS:

We’re looking for an experienced and motivated Refurbishment Project Manager to help us bring new life to retirement living communities across our Australian Unity portfolio. Reporting to the National Refurbishment Manager, Seniors Living, this role focuses on the timely, cost-effective, and high-quality delivery of refurbishment projects for independent living apartments (ILAs) and units (ILUs), with opportunities to also work on communal and residential aged care (RAC) spaces.
This is your chance to play a key role in improving the homes and shared spaces of our residents, enhancing their quality of life through thoughtful design and seamless project execution.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Lead and manage refurbishment projects from scope to completion across our national retirement community portfolio.
  • Ensure all works are delivered on time, on budget, and to a high standard, aligned to agreed project scope and business requirements.
  • Collaborate with operational teams to prepare scopes of work and obtain necessary approvals.
  • Work closely with refurbishment contractors to maintain quality standards and manage performance.
  • Issue work orders, inspect completed work (including managing defects), and approve invoices within delegation.
  • Support communal renewal projects such as community centres, outdoor gathering areas, and accessways.
  • Provide input into design briefs for architects/interior designers that balance resident expectations with business needs.
  • Strategically consider asset value and refurbishment scope to ensure appropriate investment in each project.
  • Partner with Procurement and Contract teams to manage contractor onboarding, licensing, and compliance requirements.
  • Maintain strong contractor relationships, ensuring induction, insurance, and licensing are always up to date.
