An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced regulatory engagement professional to join ASX within the Regulatory Engagement Team, with a primary focus on supporting regulatory engagement for major strategic technology and market infrastructure projects. The role sits within the projects arm of the central Regulatory Engagement Team and supports the Senior Managers responsible for regulatory engagement on ASX’s highest‑priority programs. Building strong internal and external stakeholder relationships with regulators, project teams, Executives and internal business groups across ASX will be an essential component of this role. Your Team You will be part of the projects arm of the central Regulatory Engagement Team within the Risk Division of ASX. While embedded within the central team, your day‑to‑day work will involve close collaboration with Senior Managers and delivery teams responsible for major transformation and technology programs. While the role is primarily project‑focused, it is also expected to be sufficiently flexible to provide support to BAU regulatory engagement activities, assisting BAU Managers and Senior Managers as required to manage capacity, regulatory priorities and emerging issues across the team. Your responsibilities Regulatory Engagement (Projects): This role’s primary responsibility is to support Senior Managers in planning and executing regulatory engagement for major programs and projects, including: Preparing agendas, meeting slide packs, briefings and supporting materials; Coordinating regulatory meetings and engagements aligned to project milestones; and Drafting and circulating accurate meeting notes, decisions and action items. Tracking and following up on actions arising from regulatory meetings to support timely delivery of commitments within agreed regulatory timeframes. Supporting proactive engagement with regulatory agencies to understand areas of focus and information requirements in the context of project delivery. Building and maintaining strong internal stakeholder relationships across project teams, Risk, Legal and Compliance to enable coordinated and consistent regulatory engagement. Governance and Reporting (Projects): Assisting with project‑specific regulatory reporting, including status updates, action tracking, and identification of key regulatory themes, risks and issues. Maintaining records of regulatory actions, commitments and requests for information arising from project‑related regulatory engagement. Collaborating with the Governance and Reporting team within the Risk Division to ensure project‑related regulatory matters are appropriately reflected in ELT, CRO and Board reporting. Supporting the development and implementation of tools, templates and processes to uplift regulatory engagement governance and reporting capability across projects. Identifying opportunities to streamline regulatory engagement workflows across projects and enhance consistency and transparency of reporting. Where required, contributing to BAU regulatory engagement governance and reporting activities to support broader team delivery. Project and Program Support: Supporting regulatory engagement across multiple concurrent programs, including the ClearStar Program, Markets Trading Platforms projects and the CHESS Program, ensuring consistency of approach and messaging. Assisting with the coordination of regulatory engagement across interdependent projects, identifying common themes, risks and regulator expectations. Supporting regulatory readiness activities for key project milestones, including go‑lives, assurance reviews and regulatory reviews. BAU Regulatory Engagement Support: Providing additional support as required to BAU regulatory engagement activities, including meeting coordination, action tracking, documentation and reporting, to assist BAU Managers and Senior Managers during periods of peak demand or emerging regulatory issues. Must have Proven experience in regulatory engagement or regulatory affairs, or direct experience working within a regulatory authority or organisation. Experience supporting regulatory engagement in complex, cross‑functional or project‑based environments, with the ability to flex between project delivery and BAU regulatory engagement support as required. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders across concurrent initiatives. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience preparing materials for senior stakeholders and regulators. Nice to have Experience supporting large‑scale transformation, technology or infrastructure programs. Understanding of financial markets regulation and experience engaging with Australian and/or international regulators.
