ENGINEERING MANAGER, RELEASE ENGINEERING

The Release Engineering team is responsible for software deployments and tooling development for Fastly’s CDN. We are looking for a Manager, Release Engineering, to join our team who is excited to work in a collaborative and fast-paced agile environment, is proactive, and is passionate about self-service tooling and automation. You will play a key role in expanding our platform release tooling with a goal of automation and self-service for our engineering partners.
As an SRE team, you’ll work in a dynamic environment ranging from troubleshooting linux hosts to writing software that powers our self service tooling. You and your team have a unique and insightful role in the company - and the tools you’re developing will have broad engineering wide impact.

WE’LL BE SUPER IMPRESSED IF YOU HAVE EXPERIENCE IN ANY OF THESE:

  • Previous people and team leadership
  • Familiarity with tools and technologies such as Linux, Git, Jenkins, Chef, Prometheus, and Splunk
  • Experience with Go and/or Rust
  • Experience with Kubernetes, and configuration management tools like Chef.

WORK LOCATION(S) & TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

This position is open to the following preferred office locations:

  • New York, NY

Fastly currently embraces a largely hybrid model for most roles which allows employees flexibility to split their time between the office and home.
There is a strong preference for Hybrid near a local office. However, we may be willing to consider exceptionally qualified remote candidates within the US.
This position may require travel as required by your role or requested by your manager.
