Responsibilities
  1. Establish and manage a licence transition program to coordinate the preparation and submission of replacement licence
    applications by mining operators to ensure the efficient transfer of all ongoing authorised mining activities to the environmental
    mining licensing scheme, and the cancellation of approvals for non-ongoing activities, before 1 July 2028.
  2. Lead a small team of professional officers in the coordination, facilitation and assessment of replacement licence applications
    for mining activities in the Northern Territory, providing expert guidance to shape best practice methods in the assessment of
    risk, calculation of security bonds and preparation of evidence-based recommendations for consideration by the delegate.
  3. Provide high-quality, practical advice to mining operators and company representatives in the development and submission of
    documentation for approval under the EP Act to assist them to comply with legislative requirements whilst balancing
    commercial imperatives.
  4. Project manage and identify solutions to complex regulatory matters including providing evidence-based recommendations
    for effective systems support or enforcement actions.
  5. Develop and maintain collaborative and productive working relationships across the agency and with external stakeholders to
    support effective regulation of mining activities in the Northern Territory.
