ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
The Manager, Resource Authorization oversees the review and authorization of K–12 learning and teaching resources, ensuring alignment with the Provincial Resource Review Guide, the Education Act, and the Alberta Human Rights Act. The role supports integration of resources into provincial digital platforms and leads a flexible team of staff and contractors, to meet curriculum implementation needs. The manager provides expert guidance on resource vetting and helps shape workflows for how resources are reviewed, authorized, and aligned with curriculum.
This position focuses on delivering sustainable and scalable learning and teaching resources—primarily in English and French—to support the implementation and ongoing delivery of new provincial curriculum. It identifies human resource needs and balances the use of full-time staff, contractors, and teacher engagement across Alberta. The manager also determines the expertise required and recommends the best approach to ensure subject matter expertise is effectively utilized.
