THE BUSINESS:

The Chief Operations Office (COO) keeps the Bank running and powers our customer obsession. We are the process engine room supporting the fulfilment of a wide range of products for CBA’s Retail, Commercial and Institutional customers, along with running regulatory operations and Group regulatory projects.
The Market Operations (MO) team within COO is accountable for operations activities that support the Global Markets, Settlements, Trade Finance, Institutional Lending and Transaction Banking products for Institutional and Business Bank clients across Australia, Asia, Europe and North America.
The MO Line 1 Risk Team partners with MO as well as our product partners, Line 2 and Line 3 to advise on risk, compliance, control, and change, ensuring the safety of our organisation and customers. We do this by fostering a culture of risk awareness and sound risk management practices.

Responsibilities
  • Act as a trusted advisor to leaders, fostering strong relationships with stakeholders, including Product Line 1, Line 2 and audit.
  • Support the Market Operations business in identifying, managing, and mitigating operational and compliance risks, including controls, audits, and projects while ensuring alignment with our risk appetite, strategy, standards and policies.
  • Offer guidance and support to manage risks arising from regulatory changes, industry practices, process enhancements, or product / service changes.
  • Provide support and advice on issues and incidents by applying expertise in the effective design of controls, conducting thematic reviews to identify trends and recommend solutions and facilitate root cause analysis workshops.
