    The Department of Justice and Community Safety (Youth Justice) is responsible for the statutory supervision of young people in the criminal justice system in Victoria focusing on prevention, diversion, and early intervention as the most effective and fiscally responsible ways of reducing youth crime.
    Youth Justice Custodial Services aim to engage young people in change by addressing their offending behaviour and equipping them with the skills required for positive community participation, within a safe and secure environment. Youth Justice Custodial Services is focused on a genuine therapeutic environment driven by relationships and based on an integrated model of care and reformed approach to programs and services.

The opportunity

  • Ongoing, full-time position based at Parkville.
  • VPS 5.1 role: $113,022 - $124,884 per year plus super.
  • Manage and support a team of rostering and attendance staff in day-to-day duties and contribute to the performance and development of each staff member within the team.
  • Manage staffing levels to ensure effective deployment and rostering of staff across several facilities.
  • Analyse operational and client activities and provide high level advice regarding staffing numbers, team composition and shift arrangements.
  • Develop and implement necessary procedures and internal work practices to support the centralised rostering function, ensuring transparency of practice
Responsibilities

You will be required to obtain a Working with Children Check (WWCC) to be maintained by the employee for the period of employment.
A current driver’s licence is required due to the need to work across different locations
