THE OPPORTUNITY

MinRes is currently seeking a Safety Manager for our Central Pilbara Hub, supporting two of our operational mine sites with a third coming online at the start of 2026. Reporting through to the General Manager, you will be responsible for leading the development, implementation, and maintenance of the sites Work Health and Safety Management Systems to ensure compliance with legislative requirements, minimise risk, and promote a strong safety culture and driving continuous improvement in safety performance. Your team will encompass Health & Safety, Emergency Response and Training personnel.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with operational leaders to strengthen safety leadership capability, risk management, work planning, and safety performance outcomes, fostering a culture of engagement and learning.
  • Lead, coach, and develop the Safety and Training team to deliver high-quality safety outcomes.
  • Contribute to the development and execution of the operational strategy and improvement plans at both divisional and site levels.
  • Monitor safety performance by analysing safety culture, control effectiveness, operational processes, and audit/incident data to identify trends, address root causes, and advance safety maturity.
  • Provide expert technical guidance on safety risk management, safety programs, and legislative compliance through coaching, training, and mentoring.
  • Oversee the design and execution of assurance frameworks to ensure consistent compliance through audits, inspection programmes, and fatality prevention initiatives.
  • Facilitate collaboration and sharing of best practices among Health and Safety peers across the business.
  • Integrate contractor partners into the safety improvement journey via inclusive engagement and empowerment.
  • Lead hazard identification, risk assessments, incident investigations, and root cause analyses, implementing corrective and preventive actions to avoid recurrence.
  • Monitor lead and lag safety indicators, recommend improvements, and ensure continuous enhancement of safety systems and culture.
